With the arrival of so many new Marvel characters onscreen in theaters or on Disney+, it’s not surprising that Tom Hiddleston’s Norse character Loki has fallen a bit to the wayside. After all, characters like Ms. Marvel, Moon Knight, and Valkyrie have become fan favorites as their shows (or most recent Thor movie) have been released — but the English actor who plays Loki has made some waves in his personal life!
Tom Hiddleston is a famously private actor when it comes to his dating life, but the Night Manager actor with Shakespearean roots has apparently revealed plans to marry a Marvel actor who is expecting his child — but his fiancée Zawe Ashton is not a Marvel actor who many Thor fans or Avengers fans will be familiar with!

Apparently, fiancé Tom Hiddleston and his onstage co-star from the West End production of Betrayal, Zawe Ashton, are engaged. It was actually Tom Hiddleston’s co-workers who may have accidentally let the news slip when they congratulated the pair (who had played husband and wife onstage) during the 2022 British Academy Television Awards.
Fiancée Zawe Ashton then confirmed her pregnancy in a recent interview with Vogue this summer! The actress has been making the rounds with press, since she is starring alongside Freida Pinto in the upcoming Regency period romance Mr. Malcom’s List.
Tom Hiddleston plays Loki in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, particularly in the Loki series opposite Owen Wilson’s character Mobius.
Zawe Ashton is not as well-known as her fiancé Tom Hiddleston (who has become particularly popular after playing Thor’s brother Loki in the Marvel Cinematic Universe). The actress, playwright, and director has played roles in projects like the 2019 Netflix movie Velvet Buzzsaw, but otherwise, she’s been somewhat less famous — although you might recognize Hiddleston’s fiancée from the trailer for the upcoming Freida Pinto movie Mr. Malcolm’s List, and the English actress is joining Brie Larson in the upcoming sequel to the Marvel movie Captain Marvel!

“Marvel fans, start your theories,” Brie Larson wrote in an Instagram post, showing a photo of her with the Velvet Buzzsaw star Zawe. Apparently, Zawe will play the villain in the film (although the villain’s identity has not been confirmed). If this is indeed true, then Ashton and Hiddleston will be sharing more than an offscreen life together as parents; they’ll also both be members of the Marvel Cinematic Universe!
