A teenager was on the receiving end of a ton of criticism from fellow guests and fans when they accused a fellow guest of sexually assaulting them at Disneyland.
“The Happiest Place on Earth” has been termed as such for the unbelievable experiences it provides to guests who frequent the parks. Be that riding attractions like Space Mountain or enjoying the delectable treats at any eatery, there’s a lot to love about going to a Disney theme park, be that Walt Disney World Resort or Disneyland.
But things do go awry at a Disney Park.
Teenager Takes to Reddit to Share Story of Alleged Sexual Assault
A Disney Park guest self-identified as a teenager/minor, took to social media to explain how an older guest had sexually assaulted them—”this probably 50-year-old woman.”
The teenager explained, “This women fully knowing I am a minor stuck her foot under my bum and wiggles her toes. This felt sexual. She was trying to get me to move by sexually touching me. So I moved forward a bit. She did this again. And again. And again. I feel so dirty. I’ve been sexually abused before and this really made me feel horrible.”
What might be shocking to some was that many in the comments didn’t believe the OP. Many even thought they were a troll and a different person pretending to be a teenager just to seek attention.
One wrote, “I’m like 99% certain this is just a troll post…You know, assuming anything that you said actually happened. The way this post is written just makes me have a hard time believing it.”
Another gave the OP the benefit of the doubt that they were, in fact, a minor, but also were not sympathetic.
They wrote “This sounds more like it belongs in r/teenagers if you don’t like the responses adults are giving you. All you keep saying is “I was scared” but you came here for support? Most adults are going to support you by telling you how to help yourself so it doesn’t happen again. Apparently that’s not what you want. You want drama and sympathy, so go to r/teenagers.”
This said, some stood up for the OP and defended them.
One guest commented, “The downvotes in this thread are depressing as hell. That’s so gross that that happened to you OP, I’m so sorry. I would’ve probably frozen up too, like what do you do in a situation where the second you make an accusation against an older person being gross to you you’ll be surrounded by a crowd who will likely be on their side?”
Of course, considering this is Reddit, there’s a certain level of anonymity guaranteed to the commenters and posters, so it’s difficult to make any claims on the legitimacy of the post itself. Having acknowledged this, please note this is only one guest’s experience at Disneyland and no two guest experiences are alike.
