In October 2020, Walt Disney World Resort celebrated its 50th Anniversary. The main celebration occurred at the Magic Kingdom, since that was the only theme park open for 50 years. The celebration lasted an incredible 18 months. During that time, EPCOT celebrated its 40th Anniversary. The 50th celebration ended on March 31. Less than one month later, another Disney World theme park is celebrating a milestone birthday. On April 22, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park officially turned 25 years old!
Since its creation, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park has enabled Guests to get closer than they ever have to exotic animals like Silverback gorillas, elephants, lions, rhinos, and more. The theme park also focuses on conservation and teaching Guests how to live in harmony with the beautiful animals and the world around them. Walt Disney always cared about conservation, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park is the embodiment of that.
As part of its 25th Anniversary celebration, Disney has released some great merchandise. Guests can head to Animal Kingdom to get things like tie-front shirts, tank tops, Loungefly bags, and more. They have also released a brand-new popcorn bucket that is now available. And let me tell you, if you love The Lion King, then the popcorn bucket is a must-have!
Earlier this year, Disney released a Simba popcorn bucket at Disneyland Park to celebrate the return of the popular stage show, Tale of the Lion King“Tale of the Lion King” Returns to Disney California Adventure in 2022. The show opened in 2022, after a successful first run at Disney California Adventure. Disney is continuing to celebrate the popularity of The Lion King at Walt Disney World with this Pumbaa popcorn bucket.
At this time, the Pumbaa popcorn bucket is only available in Animal Kingdom. The popcorn bucket comes with a special lanyard that says “Hakuna Matata” and has a special 25th Anniversary logo on it. The Pumbaa popcorn bucket is served full of hot, delicious popcorn. It is available to all Guests for $20.69. The fun popcorn bucket is not available on Mobile Ordering.
