Earlier today, it was reported on X (formerly Twitter) that scaffolding is coming down on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.

Clips shared on social media by DrewDisneyDude captured the milestone.

Many comments on X questioned whether or not the removal of scaffolding could be due to weather. However, the original poster reminds his followers that the exterior work does appear to be done.

The footage is from Magic Kingdom Park’s version of the new Splash Mountain retheme. Although Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort will open the new ride in 2024, neither has an official date.

This signals that significant progress is being made at Magic Kingdom Park, and it will likely open before Disneyland Park’s version of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.
Despite the attraction’s exterior, it does not necessarily mean the ride’s interior is complete at either theme park.
Recent Criticisms
In recent months, the new ride has been panned for its jungle-like exterior, covering up much of the former Splash Mountain rock work and making the attraction appear out of place in Frontierland.

There have also been rumors that Disney CEO Bob Iger had concerns over the ride’s inside when he walked through it last year. The Walt Disney Company has tried hard to hype up the new ride themed after The Princess and the Frog (2009).
However, many have not been overly impressed with the work they’ve seen. Of course, judging the new ride before it’s completed and before anyone has actually experienced it would be unfair.

Regardless of some of the criticisms, Disney teased the new ride will have a lot of fun surprises. Among these are 17 new audio-animatronics, including ones of Princess Tiana, Mama Odie, and Prince Naveen.
We have also been told that the new ride will feature music from the movie and contain an original story and songs.
