The last remnant of Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at Disney California Adventure Park is being transformed into an outdoor dining area nearly a decade after the attraction closed.
On February 25, Disney cast members were spotted repainting the ride’s former FastPass kiosk gray and orange. WDWNT documented the work showing much of the front side now displays the new color scheme, though some Tower of Terror-era theming remains, including bronze accents and a maroon-and-gold art deco clock.
Final Tower of Terror Piece Disappearing

Disneyland Resort closed the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror in 2017, replacing it with Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!. The Marvel attraction uses the same structure and ride system with new scenes featuring Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, The Collector, Rocket Raccoon, and Groot (voiced by Fred Tatasciore, not Vin Diesel).
The ride was originally in Hollywood Land before joining Avengers Campus when it opened in 2021. Through all those changes, the FastPass kiosk remained—a relic from when Disney Park guests used paper return times to skip lines.
Construction Underway

Construction walls surrounded the kiosk in January. Weeks later, Disneyland Resort filed a permit to convert the structure into an outdoor eating area. Work is now progressing with visible repainting, though some modifications remain hidden behind barriers.
The transformation eliminates the final physical connection to Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at Disney California Adventure Park, completing the area’s conversion to Marvel theming that began nearly ten years ago.
Disneyland Resort hasn’t announced an opening date for the new dining space in Avengers Campus. Follow Disney Fanatic for updates on this and other projects at Disney parks around the world!

Tower of Terror will always be better.
Sad to see that ride close…. 😟
This is so sad. Tower of Terror was the one ride I looked forward to riding at Ca Adventure. I flew all the way to wdw to ride it after it closed in Ca. I have been to Ca Adventure many times and that ride was always packed and fun. Why take it away?? Every time we have something good it goes away. Bring it back. We loved it!!
