Transportation Strikes Could Derail Thousands of Disneyland Holiday Vacations

Eurostar Disneyland Paris

As the Holiday Season approaches, so too will scores of people be flocking to a Disney Theme Park. Whether they choose to fly, drive or take the train, there is arguably fewer ways to have a magical Christmas vacation than by visiting places like The Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland Resort, or Disneyland Paris Resort, to name a few.

But for those who are traveling to the latter destination, there might be some trouble on the horizon. Guests who are using the England-based Eurostar train service to get to and from Disneyland Paris via the channel tunnel could face some issues due to strikes.

The first is that recent rail strike activity has affected some of Eurostar’s train routes to Paris on December 23 and December 24, Christmas Eve:

“Due to strike action affecting the availability of some of our crew and the opening hours on the UK railway network, we’ll be running a revised timetable on 23 and 24 December. This means we’ve had to cancel a number of trains.”

Several trains to Paris have already been canceled. However, it should be noted that the trains to Disneyland are listed separately and do not appear to be affected yet for these dates.

But more rail strikes are expected on the horizon.

Eurostar further states,

Due to strike action by Network Rail staff, who manage the railway infrastructure in the UK, the high-speed line we use will be closed all day on 26 December.

As a result, unfortunately we’re having to cancel all trains due to run on Monday 26 December, for all Eurostar destinations.
