All fans love their chance to experience the Disney magic. But as we all know, there have been numerous strange encounters and interactions at Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort. Parents have left their children with Disney characters as if the character were real-life babysitters, or even more extreme cases of picking fights and causing altercations with Disney Cast Members. But recently, we’ve also heard of religious displays at the Disney Parks. A few months ago, Guests expressed a lot of frustration with religious displays at the Disneyland Resort, particularly in Downtown Disney. Now, there has been another awkward religious display that occurred at the Disney Resort during Turtle Talk with Crush.
Turtle Talk with Crush is one of the most beloved attractions, especially by kids, at the Disney Parks. The attraction is both at the Disneyland Resort at Disney California Adventure Park and at EPCOT in Walt Disney World Resort, and the friendly turtle from Finding Nemo has seen some interesting interactions that have taken him by surprise, though little has yet fazed the beloved turtle.
Recently, one interaction took a turn at the Disney California Adventure Park’s Turtle Talk with Crush & Finding Dory Pals. Check it out:

In the video, we see Crush swimming around and chatting with Disney fans before one audience member in particular that he engages with asks him if he knows Jesus Christ. Crush is taken aback for a moment by the religious questioning from the Guest before shrugging it off, commenting, “No, dude, I don’t know who that is,” then changing the topic.
While Crush himself handled the situation quickly and effectively, many fellow fans in the comments were completely unamused. One shared, “The silence is deafening, HOW ISNT SHE EMBARRASSED?!?”
Another fan also shared, “I’m sorry, was she going to lead a fictional sea turtle to Christ with that? Like what was the end goal?? Fellow Christian here btw. Embarrassed tbh.”
While the Disney Parks are certainly an inclusive place, many fans agreed that there’s a time and place for certain types of questions, like ones to do with religion, and this was most definitely not appropriate on the part of the fan.
