Closures are part and parcel of the Disney experience, even though Guests are disappointed when they happen. From closing for refurbishments, closing for permanent rethemes—think Splash Mountain—or even simply permanent closures of attractions (or the closure of Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park), the reality of periodic closures is one all fans are familiar with. And in line with this, we bring the news that a land at Magic Kingdom Park in Walt Disney World Resort: Tomorrowland, will be closing.

While Magic Kingdom Park closes at 9 p.m., Guests who are visiting the Disney Park this week should bear in mind that Tomorrowland will be closing earlier at 5 p.m. on March 14. There will be a few attractions, namely Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin, Tomorrowland Speedway, and Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor, that will remain open for one more hour but will also close at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, March 14.
The reason for this? It’s to do with the attraction that’s currently the center of Disney Theme Park fans’ attention, TRON: Lightcycle/Run.

Good Morning America will be filming a segment at the attraction on March 14, which requires Walt Disney World to close down the land to Park visitors. Good Morning America hosts have previously covered the roller coaster when they rode it last year as a special Christmas treat for viewers.
While this is not a permanent closure it’s worth Guests noting the change to plan their Disney vacation effectively.

The attraction of the hour, TRON: Lightcycle/Run, the upcoming Tomorrowland thrill ride, is opening to the general public on April 4, 2023. It’s currently open to previews for D23 Gold members and Annual Passholders at Walt Disney World Resort. In it, Guests can “Speed across a world with no horizons in a high-stakes race based on the Disney sci-fi film TRON: Legacy.”
The attraction is not on the Disney Genie suite’s Genie+ and Lightning Lane list and will use a virtual queue or Individual Lightning Lane only.
