Fan Theory Posits Wall-E is a Re-Telling of the Biblical Story of Genesis
While most would agree that cute and adorable little WALL-E is one of Pixar’s best characters, one fan theory online blew us away…and we’re still not sure what to think of it.
In an X post, a user connected the character from the Pixar movie with the literal devil. They wrote, “People don’t realise this but Wall-E is a straightforward re telling of genesis. The autopilot is god. The captain is Adam. Eve is Eve and Wall-E is a satan.”

The fan goes on to explain, “The autopilot is God, the captain is Adam, Eve is Eve, and Wall-E is Satan.” The film, most famous for its themes of environmentalism, suddenly also changes to reflect more adult themes of “creation, temptation, and the consequences of disobedience.”
As reported by Fandomwire, this isn’t the first time that this idea of WALL-E being a Biblical story retelling has surfaced online.
In 2017, one fan wrote on Reddit that WALL-E wasn’t the savior; he was the Serpent. The user explained that the movie was a retelling of humanity’s downfall from the Garden of Eden.
The fan explains that through the movie and through WALL-E’s actions, humans and the human race go from living a carefree existence to taking up activities like agriculture and fishing, likening it to the verse: “By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground, since from it you were taken; for dust you are and to dust you will return.”
