The Disney Credit Card

The free Disney Visa credit card is a must for Disney Fanatic. If you vacation at Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland Resort, Aulani, or enjoy Disney cruises, it’s a must-have.

If approved for the credit card, it allows you to beat the high prices at Disney. By earning endless Disney reward dollars (that you earn every time you use the card), you can pay for a large portion of your trip.

Other Benefits

In addition to free Disney reward dollars, the credit card also provides 10% off of merchandise (if you spend $50) when you shop at a Disney. This applies to Disney stores, retail locations on Disney property (Walt Disney World and Disneyland), and shop.Disney.com.

The New Universal Credit Card(s)

The second credit card that includes a fee contains all the same benefits as the free card, plus a few more.

The paid credit card earns rewards at a faster rate, and cardholders receive FREE Universal tickets. This would be a single-day ticket to Universal Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios Florida or Universal Studios Hollywood after one year.

This is undoubtedly another attempt by Universal Studios to ramp up excitement and cut into Disney’s market share…especially with Epic Universe opening up in a little over a year. Currently, the free Universal tickets do not apply to Epic Universe.

About Steven

Steven has a complicated relationship with Disney. As a child, he visited Walt Disney World every few years with his family. But he never understood why kids his age (and older) were so scared of Snow White or Alien Encounter. He is a former participant of the Disney College Program (left early…long story), and he also previously worked in Children’s publishing, where he adapted multiple Disney movies and TV shows. He has many controversial opinions about Disney…like having a positive view of Michael Eisner, believing Return of the Jedi is superior to The Empire Strikes Back, and that Toy Story Land and Galaxy’s Edge should have never been built (at least not at Hollywood Studios). Every year for the past two decades, Steven has visited either Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Aulani or went on a Disney Cruise. He’s happy to share any and all knowledge of the Disney destinations (and he likes using parenthesis a lot…as well as ellipses…)
