Judging by the announcement of a new show, budget cuts seem to have struck again at one Disney park,
When Walt Disney opened Disneyland in 1955, he famously said the parks would “never be complete” as long as there was “imagination left in the world.”

Staying true to his vision, Disney theme parks have seen major updates over the decades, though not every change has been well-received by fans ā especially those that seem to provide proof that Walt Disney Imagineering is operating on a much tighter budget than in years past.
End of Disney Junior Dream Factory
Walt Disney Studios Parkāarguably the least popular park in the Disney lineupāhas announced a series of changes in recent months, including closing its Disney Junior Dream Factory show in August.

Originally scheduled for a 2020 premiere but delayed to 2021 due to the pandemic, the show catered to Disney Jr. fans, with Mickey, Minnie, Fancy Nancy, Timon, and Vampirina teaming up to get the Dream Factoryās machines running.
Although Disney Junior Dream Factory wasnāt widely beloved, it still drew a crowd for its final performance on August 31. Now, just two months later, Disney has revealed its replacement: Minnie's Musical Moment, a new 12-minute experience beginning November 1 and running through March 30, 2025.
Introduction of Minnie's Musical Moment
As announced by DLP Report, Minnie's Musical Moment will take place in Studio D, the same space previously used for Disney Junior Dream Factory.
Minnie and her friend Jamie are celebrating their friendship by playing their favourite game ā”name that song”.
From November 1, the empty Studio D space at Walt Disney Studios Park will host a 12 min happening, āMinnieās Musical Momentā.

This show features Minnie and her friend Jamie playing “name that song” to celebrate their friendship, with Jamie joining Minnie as her co-host. The show will be performed several times a day, though little is known about Jamie, a new character introduced for this show.
Fans have reacted with mixed reviews. One user on X (formerly known as Twitter) commented, “Is this a theme park or a cruise?” Others pointed out the showās perceived cost-cutting, noting it requires fewer performers than the previous production. Another user added, “WHAT is Disney doing? Name that song?! Are they being serious? And the logo looks trash too.”
The logo itself has come under fire from Disneyās online community. A particularly critical commenter observed, “Looks like itās made in Word using Word Art,” expressing disappointment with the latest design.
Entertainment Budget Cuts
This isn't the only case of budget cuts for Disney's entertainment offerings lately.
Earlier this year, fans were outraged when Disneyland Resort seemingly slashed its entertainment lineup in response to the unionization of its performers. After 1,700 cast members voted to join Equity, Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park removed multiple shows and atmospheric performances, such as Club Pixar (a limited offering for Pixar Fest) and Doctor Strange: Mysteries of the Mystic Arts.

Multiple shows also had their schedules reduced. This included Warriors of Wakanda: The Disciplines of the Dora Milaje, Citizens of Buena Vista Street, and Magic Happens ā the daily parade at Disneyland Park, which ended its 2024 season early on August 22. Until the debut of A Christmas Fantasy Parade in November, the park currently only offers a short character cavalcade.
Earlier this week, Disneyland Resort also announced that it would reduce the number of Fantasmic! performances in the next few months.
Do you think Disney entertainment is struggling with budget cuts lately?
