Disney Admits That It Will Totally Change Its Brand-New ‘Frozen’ Land

Disney is already planning future updates to its Frozen-themed lands — including the newest version that recently opened in Europe.

The company confirmed the approach in comments shared with IGN, explaining that the lands are designed to change over time as new stories from the Frozen franchise are released.

“Today, when you're in World of Frozen, you'll see Anna in her Queenly outfit from the end of Frozen II and you'll see Elsa in her beautiful Snow Queen look, as that's who they are now,” Disney said. “When a Frozen III or Frozen IV comes out, we will evolve that story. So the land will always be a living place that reflects Frozen today and wherever that story is.”

Disney Expands Frozen Across Its Global Parks

The Frozen franchise, centered on Anna (Kristen Bell), Elsa (Idina Menzel), Olaf (Josh Gad), and the kingdom of Arendelle, has become one of Disney’s most valuable properties since the release of Frozen.

The company began building permanent themed lands several years later, starting with an expansion at Hong Kong Disneyland. World of Frozen opened there on November 20, 2023, becoming the first fully themed land based on the franchise.

The area recreates Arendelle and includes Frozen Ever After, Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs, and themed locations inspired by the films, with its story set after the events of Frozen II.

Disney later introduced a similar land at Tokyo DisneySea on June 6, 2024, as part of the Fantasy Springs expansion.

The concept most recently arrived in Europe when the land opened on March 29, 2026, at Disney Adventure World, the renamed second gate at Disneyland Paris.

The Paris version centers on Arendelle village, featuring shops, restaurants, a meet-and-greet with Anna and Elsa, and the live show A Celebration in Arendelle performed on the fjord in front of Arendelle Castle.

New Films Could Shape Future Changes

Disney’s update strategy is tied closely to upcoming releases in the Frozen franchise.

Frozen 3 is scheduled for release in November 2027, with a fourth film already in development.

Early details suggest the next chapter will continue Anna’s (Kristen Bell) story with Elsa (Idina Menzel), including Anna and Kristoff’s (Jonathan Groff) wedding and the introduction of a new member of the royal family of Arendelle.

Disney has already begun teasing elements of the sequel. In March, a Disney+ Insider video followed Frozen filmmaker Jennifer Lee and Frozen 3 co-director Trent Correy through World of Frozen.

During the segment, Lee spoke with Anna about wedding plans in Arendelle.

“We hear there are big wedding plans happening. Are you excited?” Lee asked.

“Oh, yes! I’m so excited!” Anna said.

Correy also asked whether Anna was handling most of the planning.

Anna replied, “Olaf said he likes to be in charge of all the party planning in Arendelle, and he told us that he and Kristoff have been planning a really big surprise for the Snowflower Festival!”

Disney has not confirmed specific additions such as new rides or attractions.

However, the company has indicated that World of Frozen and other Frozen lands will continue evolving with each new film, meaning changes to characters, costumes, and experiences tied to Arendelle, Elsa, Olaf (Josh Gad), and Kristoff are likely in the coming years.
