Adventurous guests waiting for the World of Frozen to open at Hong Kong Disneyland don’t have to wait much longer. The Walt Disney Company officially dethawed the opening date announcement, and it’s only a few short months away!
World of Frozen Opening Date
The highly-anticipated grand opening is now set for November 20, 2023. World of Frozen is set to become a beloved experience for fans of Disney’s blockbuster animated film franchise. As the first Frozen-themed land to grace any Disney park, it carries the allure of Disney’s proven beloved films.
Walt Disney World fans who have experienced the Frozen Ever After ride in EPCOT’s Norway Pavilion will be happy to know the ride is also coming to the World of Frozen. This first attraction is faithfully recreated from its EPCOT and Shanghai Disneyland counterparts. This boat ride transports guests on a cute journey through the kingdom of Arendelle, where they have the unique opportunity to witness stories about their favorite characters, including Anna, Elsa, Olaf, and Sven.
Adding to the excitement is the debut of Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs, a brand-new roller coaster designed with families in mind. This ride promises to whisk guests away on an adventure through the snow-capped peaks of Arendelle. Drawing inspiration from Wandering Oaken’s Trading Post and Sauna, a favorite location from the films, this coaster will surely be adorable.

A Fantastic Frozen Experience
Another unique location in World of Frozen is Playhouse in the Woods. This is where guests will be able to meet and greet with Frozen’s famous duo, Anna and Elsa. The two characters will appear in their summer outfits in a setting inspired by their playhouse from the films and the enchanted forest.
Beyond the rides, World of Frozen will also have an array of themed shops and restaurants to explore. The meticulous attention to detail extends to the stunning scenery, which includes a faithful replica of Elsa’s Ice Palace.
Major Hong Kong Disneyland Expansion
This expansion represents a momentous occasion in the history of Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, as it stands as the largest expansion to date, spanning an impressive 10-acre site. Notably, the design of the land takes inspiration from the natural beauty of Norway, the real-world setting that provided the backdrop for the Frozen films.
World of Frozen’s arrival in Hong Kong Disneyland enhances the park’s appeal and aligns with Disney’s global strategy of creating captivating themed lands across its various destinations. Fans should also be aware that versions of World of Frozen are eventually coming to Tokyo DisneySea and Disneyland Paris’s Walt Disney Studios Park, bringing the magic of Arendelle to even more audiences.
