One of the most interesting stories the Jurassic Park franchise has never explored is the fall of Site B.
In The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997), John Hammond (Richard Attenborough) briefly explains that InGen abandoned Isla Sorna after a hurricane devastated the island shortly following the events of the original 1993 film.

Since then, fans have long wondered what actually happened during the evacuation of Isla Sorna. A Jurassic Park prequel centered on Site B could finally answer that question.
The concept almost writes itself: scientists trapped on an island while a massive tropical storm tears through dinosaur enclosures and research facilities, forcing InGen employees into a desperate evacuation attempt as prehistoric predators escape into the jungle.
It would also give the franchise something it desperately needs after Jurassic World Rebirth (2025): a return to grounded survival storytelling.

While Rebirth performed extremely well commercially, many fans criticized the film for abandoning the global dinosaur premise established by Fallen Kingdom (2018) and Dominion (2022). Others took issue with the script and the increasingly exaggerated direction of the series, which now includes mutant dinosaur hybrids and winged raptors.
A Park-era prequel could strip the franchise back to its roots while still expanding the lore surrounding InGen, Hammond, and Site B itself.
Interestingly, Universal is already exploring that era through Jurassic Park: Survival, the upcoming first-person video game set on Isla Nublar immediately after the events of the original film.

Unlike the recent Jurassic World movies, which have leaned heavily into spectacle and franchise escalation, a Site B prequel could focus entirely on suspense, isolation, and survival horror.
Universal has not yet confirmed another Jurassic film following Rebirth, but reports suggest a new installment is already in development.
Either way, for many fans, the franchise’s future may ultimately lie in its past.
