Disney’s beloved water park, Blizzard Beach, is set to experience a temporary closure in the first week of February due to
]forecasted low temperatures.
Closures are a part and parcel of the Disney experience. All Disney fans are well-versed with any Disney theme park (or, for that matter, Disney Park ride) closing for refurbishment. While it certainly is unfortunate that our favorite rides and parks are unavailable for us to enjoy, it’s necessary to ensure the safety of all guests.

Blizzard Beach to Close in February
Disney’s Blizzard Beach, a beloved water park, is set to close between February 4 and February 7 due to forecasted low temperatures, as reported by Orlando Theme Park News. This news is corroborated by the Blizzard Beach website as well, where guests will note that “No Times Available” is listed for park hours from February 4 through February 7.
At present, the Disney water park is set to reopen on February 8, 2024, for guests to enjoy.

Guests should note that this closure means that for those four days, there will be no water parks available for guests to visit since Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon is presently closed for refurbishment.
Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park is currently expected to reopen this spring for guests to visit. If Disney’s pattern thus far is to be continued, then guests will likely see another Blizzard Beach closure when Typhoon Lagoon reopens. However, this closure will last much longer, as Walt Disney World Resort will use the time for refurbishment.

This isn’t the first time that Blizzard Beach has closed due to extreme weather this year. In January of 2024, the water park closed its doors to guests when Florida saw incredibly low temperatures.
Of course, as with the last time, fans can rest assured they’ll be able to splash around at Blizzard Beach as soon as it’s safe to do so!
