In a new marketing campaign for guests, Disney compared its Parisian theme park to the Eiffel Tower.

The Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort are universally agreed upon as some of the best places in the world to enjoy a Disney vacation. However, guests can sometimes forget there are other parks all over the world that also provide an incredible experience for most fans.

From Hong Kong Disneyland and the Shanghai Disney Resort in the Asian continent to the European Disneyland Paris, other parks also deliver the Disney experience to fans. Of these, recently, one Disney Park had a surprising marketing campaign for fans.

Recently, as shared by the DLP Report on X, formerly known as Twitter, a “New Disneyland Paris campaign targeted at Olympics visitors, drawing parallels between Paris icons and the Resort.”

In the photo, we see the slogan “Don’t just see an iconic tower, see an iconic castle,” with the photo being a split image of the Eiffel Tower and the Disneyland Paris Sleeping Beauty Castle.

Along with this, there is a second image with the text “See the streets of Paris with a walk down Main Street, U.S.A,” with a split image of Paris and Main Street, U.S.A.

The campaign is reportedly meant to encourage Olympics visitors to the city to visit the Parisian Disney theme park, thereby increasing footfall to the park. However, many fans thought Disney’s parallels went a little too far.

One commented, “Paris is the prettiest castle in the world, but still deeply funny to compare themselves to THE EIFFEL TOWER.”

Another wrote, “‘if you like paris, you’ll love overpriced american hyperrealism’ who is this campaign for lol.”

A third added, This is lazy. But DLP is layzier, no expansion during this time? Could have been wa great crowd puller.”

Some also spoke out in support of the campaign, praising the graphics department. One wrote, Great idea for a campaign. Kudos to the graphics department.”

Whatever else can be said about the campaign, it can’t be faulted for ambition!
