While the ever-controversial Disney Genie suite has been at the center of Guests’ debate for months, the service saw a price drop during the holiday week.
The Disney Genie suite has been much debated and addressed, whether by Disney executives or by Disney Guests, ever since its release. The service, which includes the Lightning Lane and paid Genie+ service, replaced the (free) FastPass reservation system. Introduced during former Disney CEO Bob Chapek’s tenure, the service has been known to cause Guests a lot of frustration on more than one count.

One of the most recent updates to the Disney Genie system has been the introduction of variable pricing. The change allows for the unpredictability of the price, in turn offering Guests the chance to optimize their day as well as gain access to some Lightning Lane entrances of select attractions.
However, since its institution, the price has seen an upward trend and even saw a record high recently. From November 21 to Saturday, November 26 of this year, Disney Genie+ was set at $29 per Guest. This was the all-time highest price that had been noted for the service.
However, as of November 27, Disney Genie+ is priced at $17 per Guest. This steep from $29 per Guest could be a sign of what’s to come for the Disney Parks, especially with the recent change in Disney’s leadership from Bob Chapek to Bob Iger.
Guests should note this price exists along with the part of the service that allows Guests to access various attractions more easily.
