Splash Mountain Passengers Continue Risking Lives For Horrifying Trend

A hazardous trend that we saw doctors warning against — and Disney Guests enthusiastically doing, despite said warnings — has begun to rear its ugly head again!

When the classic Magic Kingdom ride called Splash Mountain closed permanently in Walt Disney World Resort earlier this year, Splash Mountain fans did not take it well.

Some people took advantage of the situation and peddled bags of water to the highest bidders online, claiming that it was sacred “Splash Mountain water” from the Disney ride, but other people chose a more directly-harmful method when it came to commemorating the ride.

Unfortunately, Magic Kingdom Guests were doing the unthinkable on the ride before it closed and drinking its water.

Yes, the water flows a lot on the ride since it is a water ride — but it is still water that is not just running through machinery on a constant cycle; it is also water that many other people have been touching, spitting in, or worse.

Electrical devices and machinery are also operating under the surface of the water, making this practice even more dangerous!

Disneyland is now rapidly approaching the permanent closure of its very own ‘copy’ of Splash Mountain, and Disney Guests are unfortunately participating in the same trend that their Floridian compatriots had tried earlier in 2023.

TikTok user @watchmyhaircut has shared a video of a Guest drinking water on the ride — in the indoor portion of the water ride, to make matters even worse — and although some TikTok users did recognize that the water “is disgusting,” other people (very worryingly) did not seem perturbed.

Have you ever seen a Disney Guest drink water on a Disney water ride, or in any theme park for that matter?

Are you a Splash Mountain fan who would consider doing this to commemorate a soon-to-be-closed ride, or to follow an Internet trend that was started by strangers — and do you understand the risks that are involved?
