It appears that Walt Disney Imagineers have found a way to keep keep the spirit of Splash Mountain alive at Walt Disney World and allow Guests to truly immerse themselves in it!
Disney Fanatic just got an anonymous tip that after noticing all of the Splash Mountain water being sold on eBay, Disney will capitalize on this demand by taking all of the log-flume ride’s water supply and putting it in a massive new pool at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge.

Our sources were not clear about when the transfusion is expected to begin, but they also said that the entire area surrounding the pool would become the new home for Br’er Rabbit, Br’er Fox, and Br’er Bear, recycling the statues. There is even talk of installing underwater speakers–just like those found at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort–so ride songs like “Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah” and “Everybody’s Got a Laughing Place” and “How Do You Do” can still be heard, and enjoyed by those so in love with the ride that they are willing to submerge their entire bodies into the water they used to float along for decades.
Imagineers reportedly chose Disney’s Wilderness Lodge because it was the Resort Hotel most similar to Splash Mountain’s former home, Magic Kingdom’s Frontierland, and it makes sense for the now-homeless characters to stumble upon the Resort after being let loose in the woods around Bay Lake. Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground was also considered, but there is a desire to keep this experience exclusive to Resort Guests only and say the Lodge is a more profitable option.

Our sources also tell us that there will be no efforts made to clean the water as Disney wants to make sure that the experience is as authentic as possible.
Considering the clearly high demand for Splash Mountain water and all of the voices shouting #SaveSplashMountain as it closed to make way for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, it is likely that Disney’s Wilderness Lodge could become the most popular Resort on Property. It should be noted, however, that there is no official word yet from Disney CEO Bob Iger, Disney Parks Chairman Josh D’Amaro, or any of the Walt Disney Imagineers regarding this change at this time.
