Former Disney star Bridgit Mendler has officially become one of the most impressive Disney alums, becoming the CEO of a new space startup called Northwood Space.

Bridgit Mendler is well known in the world of Disney and among Disney fans for her roles in Wizards of Waverly Place, Good Luck Charlie, and more. However, now the accomplished former Disney star can add CEO to her resume!

Former Disney Star Bridgit Mendler Becomes CEO of Space Company

After her time on the Disney Channel as a young actress, followed by a degree from Harvard University and a Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Mendler is “launching a new career in the space industry as CEO of startup Northwood Space, based in El Segundo, California.”

The company’s initial funding has been raised from investors including Founders Fund, Andreessen Horowitz and Also Capital.

“The vision is a data highway between Earth and space,” Mendler told CNBC. “Space is getting easier along so many different dimensions but still the actual exercise of sending data to and from space is difficult. You have difficulty finding an access point for contacting your satellite.”

This wasn’t all! Mendler also took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share that along with all of this, she is a new mom to a young four year old boy! Mendler explained,

The other news I wanted to share is I’m a mama to a sweet 4yo boy. Started fostering in 2021 adopted near Christmas of 2022. I’m so lucky — being a parent is the biggest gift and most defining experience there is that’s my news for now folks
