If you want to book a seven-night vacation aboard the maiden voyage of the Disney Treasure cruise ship next year, you may want to reconsider. Disney Cruise Line is not exactly being financially friendly with the newest ship’s inaugural sailing.
The Disney Treasure Maiden Voyage
The Walt Disney Company pulled back the curtain on many new venues and experiences coming to the Disney Treasure cruise ship next year. While the vessel is stunning and contains a lot of perfectly themed locations on board, it’s hard to shake the pricing strategy DCL is placing on the maiden voyage. Sailing on the Disney Treasure‘s debut offering on the week of December 21, 2024, will set you back a minimum of almost $9,000 for two people.
The cost of a traditional sailing on the Disney Treasure starts at around $3,800 for two people. Waiting just a week will save you about $5,000 total for a switch to the Western Caribbean itinerary with an additional port! While Disney should understandably charge more money for the maiden voyage, asking for more than an additional cruise booking’s cost simply because it’s the first sailing seems a little excessive. Nevertheless, people will pay it happily when pre-booking opens up soon.
Disney Treasure Booking Dates
The maiden voyage for the Disney Treasure features the Eastern Caribbean stops of Tortola (British Virgin Islands), St. Thomas (U.S. Virgin Islands), and Disney’s private Castaway Cay island. The trip also includes three days at sea. The Western itinerary includes Cozumel (Mexico), Geroge Town (Grand Cayman), Falmouth (Jamaica), and Castaway Cay as well. Both leave out of Port Canaveral, Florida.
Bookings open to the general public on September 20, 2023. However, members of the Castaway Club, Golden Oak Club, Disney Vacation Club, and Adventure Insiders can book beforehand. Here is a list of these early booking dates:

Disney Cruise Line Announcements
Disney Cruise Line unveiled some of the major venues aboard the Disney Treasure this week. Among the major announcements was a new Broadway-style show in addition to the Beauty and the Beast show currently on the Disney Dream. A Coco dining venue will replace the Frozen restaurant from the Disney Wish and a Zootopia-themed ice cream parlor. Rounding out the fun is a 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea pub and a Jungle Cruise-themed lounge.
Disney Cruise Line will also see a huge ship head to Singapore after the launch of the Treasure and an additional sister ship for the Wish after that. However, there’s little hope these will have an affordable maiden voyage if Disney can’t help itself to charge obscene prices for exclusive experiences.
