“Disney is Just Collecting Checks”: 70-Year-Old Guest Almost “Trampled” at The Parks

The Walt Disney World Resort and the Disneyland Resort are some of the best places in the world for a Disney vacation. The Walt Disney World Resort and the Disneyland Resort are some of the best places in the world for a Disney vacation. From the Theme Parks—think like Disney’s Animal Kingdom in Disney World or Disneyland Park in Disneyland)—and their myriad offerings in the form of attractions like Haunted Mansion, Space Mountain, or it’s a small world, shows like “Fantasmic!” and parades like Magic Happens or Festival of Fantasy, Disney has something for everyone. However, recently, we’ve heard tell of a less-than-magical happening at the Disney Parks: a Guest reported that a 70-year-old Disney World Guest passed out before a fireworks show and was not only not well taken care of but was also almost trampled.

While being at a Disney Theme Park is a wonderful experience, sometimes things can go awry. Guests have been known to get into altercations, mistreating fellow visitors and Cast Members. Cast Members have also been known (although this is much rarer) to be rude to Guests. But this recent story is a bit different and is a shocking one. TikToker @dolly_olly_oxenfre, took to the platform to reprimand the Mouse House for its lack of proper safety measures at the Parks. The social media influencer has over 2 million followers on the app and shared a video with the caption: “@disneyparks DO BETTER. This is not OK.”

In the video, while she is a “Disney girly” she was so angry at the Parks. She mentioned how overcrowded the Parks were and that people with strollers were practically climbing over each other and were told there was no emergency exit. She said there was a 70-year-old woman who ended up passed out on the floor right before a fireworks show, and she was just left there the entire time while Doll tried screaming for help. It’s truly a shocking episode at Walt Disney World Resort.

Fans in the comments were commiserating with this experience and sharing their gratitude for this influencer talking about these issues. One fan shared, “Disney has to put a cap on the people allowed in the parks at once. These numbers are insane. It’s just greed, they don’t care about experience.”

Danielle Esposito chimed in, “Thank you for bringing light to this issue. You guys are the best. I hope you are all safe.” Another fan also shared a shocking claim that, “If someone dies in the park, Disney drags the body to the lot before calling an ambulance so no one ‘dies in the park'”

It’s certainly one of the reasons Disney claims they instilled the Disney Park Pass reservation system, however these types of incidents are disconcerting nonetheless. This said, it’s important to remember this is one account of a Disney experience; each Walt Disney World vacation is different from the next and shouldn’t be generalized to all Guest experiences.
