The fire department reported that the Walt Disney World Resort’s hotel, the Polynesian Village Resort, was evacuated after a chemical exposure scare.
The Walt Disney World Resort in Central Florida is one of the most renowned Disney theme parks in the world. Any Disney Park at the Disney resort has myriad rides and attractions that have guests flocking to it to enjoy the ultimate Disney experience.
Many people travel from all over the globe to visit the enchanting Disney parks and create magical memories with their loved ones. Whether it’s exploring the whimsical streets of Disney Springs or enjoying a spectacular fireworks show at the end of a magical day, guests are always in for a treat.
However, sometimes, we have less than savory news to report about the Disney theme parks, and today is one such day. As reported by Fox 35 Orlando, a Walt Disney World resort hotel was briefly evacuated after possible chemical exposure.
Chemical Scare Causes Evacuation of Polynesian Village Resort
On Wednesday, October 25, a brief chemical scare was reported at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, as reported by a Reedy Creek Fire Department spokesperson. The representative continued that “an employee was mixing two chemicals that should not have been mixed,” which resulted in a reaction. “Employees [were made] to evacuate the kitchen while firefighters checked out the scene” due to the possible chemical exposure.
Fox 35 Orlando also added that no guests or workers were injured in the incident, and no guests were affected by it either.

Not The First Incident of Its Kind
While an emergency evacuation is undoubtedly a scary situation to occur, it’s by no means the first of its kind. Last month, guests of Disney’s Pop Century Resort were forced to evacuate in the middle of the night due to an unforeseen circumstance.
Earlier this month, Disney’s Jambo Hotel had an incident that needed guests to evacuate as well, although this evacuation wasn’t as smooth as one might have expected.
Guests have also been made to evacuate rides and attractions at Disney World due to safety concerns. For example, in the past, we’ve reported on guests evacuating Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, forcing them to walk on the tracks.
Guests can rest assured that Disney cast members are well trained to handle these kinds of situations if they ever do arise in the parks or if they do affect guests, and provided one follows their instructions, things will likely go smoothly.
