When you decide to take a Walt Disney World vacation, one of the most important decisions you have to make is where you’ll be staying. There are a lot of options outside Disney World, but many die-hard fans and experts will tell you that staying on property has a lot of added benefits. There are more than 25 hotels at Walt Disney World, each with its own incredible theme. The hotels range from Value to Deluxe — with Value being the most inexpensive hotels, and Deluxe being the most expensive. Disney wants everyone to be able to enjoy a stay at Disney World, so there are price points that will fit nearly every budget.

One of the more popular Resorts that falls into Disney’s Moderate category is Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground. The 750-acre hotel brings Guests back to the time of early America, making them feel like they are on the frontier. Guests stay in private cabins and can enjoy scenic walks through gorgeous nature trails.

Fort Wilderness has been open since 1971, and each cabin offers a living room, full bathroom, kitchen, dishwasher, private patio, and even a charcoal grill! It’s the perfect place to stay for families who want to visit the Parks, but then go back to a place that feels like home.

Theme park reporter Scott Gustin shared that the 350 new cabins will be replacing existing cabins! There will also be improvements made to the walking trails. The Resort could even see a new swimming pool for Guests to enjoy!

NEW: Disney Vacation Club is announcing plans to “bring refreshed cabin hideaways” to Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. The proposed plans call for more than 350 new cabins to replace the existing cabins at the resort.

Other updates to the resort include a “proposed pool and walking trail enhancements as well as new expanded dining experiences at Trail’s End Restaurant and Crockett’s Tavern.’

Disney has not announced when they will begin construction on these new cabins, but the new DVC rooms are expected to open in 2024. This will be the 17th Disney Vacation Club Resort. There are also DVC rooms at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Wilderness Lodge, Animal Kingdom Lodge, the Beach Club, the BoardWalk, Old Key West, Polynesian Village, the Rivera Resort, and Saratoga Springs.
