Did you know that this week is National Wildlife Week? And for those looking for a way to extend the wildly good times throughout the whole weekend, you can rightly do so by turning to Disney+ where there are currently several wildly delightful family-friendly movies trending big time. From live-action thrills to cartoon classics that the whole family can watch together, here are 10 currently streaming recommendations on Disney+ for you to have a wildly wonderful weekend with.

10. Zootopia (2016)

This hit computer-animated work by Disney in 2016 is currently one of the top streaming flicks on Disney+ right now. And it’s easy to see why with its amusing storyline, in which anthropomorphic animals coexist in a versatile world together. The film brings together a mixture of more obvious comedy as well as humorous references that adults in particular will have fun laughing about. Share in the adventures of Judy Hopps—the first-ever bunny police officer as she works her way up the ladder to prove herself, while also looking to solve a mysterious missing mammals case with the help of a shady fox companion—Nick Wilde.

9. Ice Age (2002)

The Ice Age franchise, by 20th Century Studios, has been another big streamer on Disney+ lately. From the first installment in 2002 to all the follow-up sequels, Disney+ is where you can catch all these pleasing prehistoric hits, including the newest installment—The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild from 2022. Despite being computer-animation work, the Ice Age franchise brings together just the right amount of humor that both children and adults can thoroughly enjoy. Ice Age fans also take note of the all-new six-part series Ice Age Scrat Tales, which is set to premiere on Disney+ on April 13.

8. The Good Dinosaur (2015)

Taking place on an alternative timeline in which the dinosaurs were not wiped out 65 million years ago, this computer-animated movie by Disney-Pixar has all the makings of a modern classic, and an original plot to boot. The story follows a young dinosaur named Arlo, who—through a series of circumstances—finds himself washed downriver and far from home. His only other companion is a young caveboy human named Spot. Together they set out on the ultimate journey to get back home. It’s a journey in family entertainment worth taking at home this weekend with your own family.

Finding Nemo (2003)

Both the original Disney-Pixar installment from 2003 along with the follow-up sequel, Finding Dory, from 2016 are streaming big on Disney+ right now. In fact, you may even want to expand your ocean of opportunities even further by taking them both in this weekend for the ultimate fishy marathon. First, let yourself get lost in the charm of the little clownfish just trying to find his way back. Then enjoy the antics of a forgetful fish friend. You can’t go wrong with either or both of these trending deep-sea adventures.

6. Avatar (2009)

For an out-of-this-world watch that never goes out of style, tune into this James Cameron blockbuster from 2009. Following a plot in which a paralyzed man gets a new chance at mobility in the form of becoming an Avatar on a lush alien planet known as Pandora, this fascinating watch brings together the best in both fantasy and nature. And given the still new Pandora – The World of Avatar land within Disney World’s Animal Kingdom Park, it’s easy to see why this film is still trending big.

5. Tarzan (1999)

This animated work by Disney may be a bit of an oldie in comparison to all the others we’ve highlighted, but it’s one of the top streaming watches you’ll find in the Animated Movies collection on Disney+ at present time. Gather the family around for this often-underrated film, retelling the classic Tarzan legend with a Disney spin and plenty of excellent Phil Collins songs thrown in.

4. The Princess and the Frog (2009)

What can be wilder than a classic Disney Princess tale in which the key players spend most of the film having been transformed into frogs? What’s more, they also spend a good portion of the film out and about in the Bayou with other creatures of sorts. Disney’s Princess and the Frog premiered back in 2009 but it’s still a trending hit and one of our weekend recommendations.

3. The Jungle Book (2016)

In addition to Disney’s well-loved animated classic of the same name, this newer live-action remake of The Jungle Book from 2016 is an absolute marvel in innovation for its life-like computer-generated animal presentations. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that it is currently streaming big time on Disney+. On another interesting note, so is the original animated one from 1967.

2. The Lion King (2019)

The phenomenal effects presented in the 2016 installment of The Jungle Book were also later incorporated into the live-action remake of the Lion King in 2019. So, it should come as no surprise that The Lion King is another big streamer on Disney+ right now and a wonderful pick for your family’s viewing pleasure this weekend. Like the former take on The Jungle Book, Disney’s original animated version of The Lion King from 1994 is also currently trending.
