Displeased with more recent developments in the Disney Parks, once again, fans have been discussing ending their loyalty to Disney.
This downhill trend started when the current CEO of The Walt Disney Company, Bob Chapek, took over. The executive replaced former CEO Bob Iger in 2020. Fans even started a petition to replace him within a year of his promotion.
Chapek has overseen the debut of many a new attraction and tech. He helped the Disney Parks debut new EPCOT attractions, think: Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure. He is even behind the recent developments at Disneyland Paris: the Avengers Campus. Chapek is also behind the Disney Genie app, bringing the controversial Genie+ and Lighting Lane system in tow.
Part of the most controversial changes with the Disney Parks has been their pricing systems and the cancellation and renewal of programs for Annual Passholders. Prices have shot up even though Chapek claimed in an interview with CNBC that Disney is prepared to be flexible with their pricing. But fans are no longer certain if the passes are worth their cost. One family even said goodbye to Disney after being pass holders for 11 years.
In more recent news, one TikTokker, @sayheyjames, questioned how much further Disney could and would go.
Check it out:
In the video, he says,
“By now, we all know this guy, Bob, sucks. He’s raised the prices for the tickets to go to the Parks. He’s cut down on staff. Employees have said that the rides break down all the time; the environment that they work in is awful. But his salary has increased. At what point is enough enough for you?”
@sayheyjames reminds viewers that Disney even called their Magic Key holders “unfavorable Guests.”
Because of these reasons and more, fans have expressed hitting their breaking point or getting awfully close to it, opting to also start going to other attractions. Recently Disney Fanatic covered how Guests have been abandoning Disney for Universal.

On the surface, the situation isn’t looking great for Disney when Guests are already jumping ship, despite the Parks reporting an increase in spending per Guest. Only time will tell if the Company will step up, take notice, and start fixing the mess die-hard fans have seen unfolding.
