Everyone has something to say about the Walt Disney Company’s feud with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. From analysts to fellow politicians to fans, the fight between Disney and Governor Ron DeSantis has flooded and dominated headlines. Each time one side came forth with an action seemingly calling an end to the long, drawn-out battle, the other side would come out with a new maneuver. But most recently, Disney pulled a move that has caused waves.

The Walt Disney Company (specifically Walt Disney World Resort) is suing Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

This has caused an uproar among the Disney community and the world at large for the implications it could hold, but mostly because many were surprised that they found themselves rooting for a massive corporate conglomerate over the opposition. Fans have come out in droves in support of Disney, sharing videos, comments, and tweets in support of the Mouse House.

Interestingly, while experts all agree that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis will lose to Disney, there are many who are actively hoping this will be the case. Not only this, some former Cast Members have spoken out in agreement with these experts as well.

In the comments of the Ginger Banks’s TikTok video, one former Cast Member shared, “I used to work for Disney(WDW and yes, I had to sign a lifetime NDA). I can tell you one thing— if Disney sues you, you’re gonna lose. Every time.”

Another fan said, “it’s no longer gonna be Florida. it’s just gonna be Disney,” and another even asked, “is disney about to save Florida?”

Fans are also showing their support by saying they will be renewing their Disney+ subscriptions and supporting the Mouse House monetarily.  One joked, “Adds “Disney entering antihero arc” to my rapidly growing list of unexpected, once in a lifetime events I’ve witnessed.”

Similarly, on another Reddit post, some fans even posited that perhaps Disney had instigated and provoked Florida Ron DeSantis on purpose: “Reading the document couldn’t help but think Disney goaded them into invalidating the previous agreement to make a lawsuit stronger.”

Many also concurred they would have loved to have been a fly on the wall when Disney CEO Bob Iger gave the go ahead to file the lawsuit: ” I’d loved to have been in the meeting when Iger finally said ‘Do it!'”

While the lawsuit itself is yet to progress, it’ll certainly be interesting to see who comes out on top—Governor DeSantis or the Walt Disney Company—and no matter what happens, it seems Disney has won public opinion.
