We know that fans of Walt Disney World in Florida would jump at the chance to experience an all-new roller coaster attraction at the parks themed around Disney’s cash cow franchise, Frozen. However, the company has chosen to bless Hong Kong Disneyland Resort with the offering first, leaving many to only dream of the experience for now. However, all is not lost. Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs

With the World of Frozen area opening at Hong Kong Disneyland on November 20, 2023, Disney has finally pulled back the curtain to give fans a glimpse of what is coming. While the entire expansion promises to be a winter wonderland of fun, one particular attraction stands out as it is entirely new—Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs. Recently, the park offered an exclusive sneak peek with some never-before-seen footage of this charming roller coaster.

Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs, inspired by the iconic Wandering Oaken’s Trading Post and Sauna from Disney’s Frozen, is set to become the world’s first Frozen-themed roller coaster. It’s a ride sure to be the most popular spot in the World of Frozen.

Disney Shows Footage of Frozen Roller Coaster

The recently unveiled footage gives us a good glimpse of what to expect. As riders embark on this new coaster, they’ll follow the familiar scenes of the north mountain, beginning by winding through the forest landscape of Arendelle. Along the way, beloved Frozen characters, including Olaf, the trusty Sven, and Kristoff, appear to enhance the experience. The aerial shots show the carts spiraling around the mountain as if circling a drain.

However, Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs is, first and foremost, a family attraction. While the ride promises thrills and excitement, it’s tailored to ensure that younger riders can enjoy the fun. So, don’t anticipate heart-pounding drops or too many twists. Instead, the coaster will likely have an intensity similar to Walt Disney World’s Seven Dwarfs Mine Cart ride at the Magic Kingdom. Furthermore, the footage looks like it would have some thrills akin to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. You can see the video for yourself via Scott Gustin on Twitter/X.

Of course, Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs is just one of the many attractions awaiting guests at the World of Frozen. The expansion boasts a range of themed shops and restaurants, each meticulously designed to capture the essence of the Frozen franchise. The faithful replica of Elsa’s Ice Palace will also provide a breathtaking backdrop for unforgettable moments and photographs. Families can also meet Anna and Elsa at their playhouse in the forest.

As the largest expansion in Hong Kong Disneyland Resort’s history, the World of Frozen promises to be a monumental addition, aligning with Disney’s global strategy to create enchanting themed lands across various destinations. And for fans worldwide, take note: a version of the World of Frozen is currently under construction at Disneyland Paris’s Walt Disney Studios Park, so more opportunities to experience Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs will likely come in time.
