Disney Park Transportation Set to Be Replaced

According to recent reports, the train line to Hong Kong Disneyland will soon be entirely replaced so that it can enjoy a “brand new look.”

Any Disney Park around the world is known to provide the ultimate Disney experience for fans. The MTR Corp. in Hong Kong plans to introduce new battery trains with a renovation plan that includes “resignalling” for the train linking Sunny Bay station on the Tung Chung Line with the Hong Kong Disneyland theme park. The train first opened as an automated shuttle in 2005 and runs 3.5 km.

The renewal plan for the train line was announced on April 11, 2024. It “ includes the purchase of three four-car trainsets from CRRC Qingdao Sifang.”

Per the report from Metro Report International“The trainsets will have [a] Disney-themed exterior and interior styling ‘to create a magical journey for passengers.’”

Dr. Tony Lee, Operations & Innovation Director at MTR Corp, shared, “We look forward to applying new technologies, including artificial intelligence, in this comprehensive asset renewal project of the Disneyland Resort Line to create more favourable conditions for future railway facilities, operations and maintenance, and passenger experience.”

The new train line is set to be completed and functional for guests to enjoy in its new form from 2028.
