Elmo Checks In On X

Sesame Street is one of the most well-known children’s shows there is out there. The show and it’s loveable characters have been entertaining children since 1969 and has 54 seasons.

On January 29, 2024, Elmo, a beloved Sesame Street character, took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to check in with folks about how they were doing.  The sweet red muppet wrote, “Elmo is just checking in! How is everybody doing?”

What followed was described by many as a barrage of “trauma dumping.”

One fan wrote, “Elmo we are tired.”

Another commented, “Every morning, I cannot wait to go back to sleep. Every Monday, I cannot wait for Friday to come. Every single day and every single week for life.”

A third even went so far as to say, “The world is burning around us, Elmo.”

Many fans on social media also humorously acknowledged the fact that Elmo’s gentle question had gotten a little out of hand, considering the likely intention of the post.

One said, “Elmo reading the replies and QTs.”
