On June 29, Disney fans got online extra early to try to get a good spot in the virtual queue to buy tickets to this year's Oogie Boogie Bash at Disney's California Adventure Park. Oogie Boogie Bash replaced Mickey's Halloween Party and premiered in 2019. The party was an immediate hit and has only gotten more popular each year. The virtual waiting room opened around 8:45 a.m., with those in the waiting room automatically being put into the virtual queue when it opened at 9 a.m. Things started out smoothly and Guests were excited.
Sadly, it did not stay that way. Only a few lucky Guests were actually able to purchase tickets to the beloved event. Less than 10 minutes after the queue opened for ticket sales, the website updated to let Guests know that, due to some technical issues, sales had been paused. Then, it was a waiting game. A seven-hour waiting game. At just after 4 p.m. PT, the website was once again updated to let Guests know that Oogie Boogie Bash ticket sales would not be resuming that day and Disney would let them know more at a future time.
Well, that future time is finally here! On July 6, Disney announced that Oogie Boogie Bash ticket sales would take place on Tuesday, July 11, no earlier than 9 a.m. Once again, Guests can wait in the virtual waiting room — which opens around 8:45 a.m. PT — and will then be placed in a virtual queue. The Disneyland Resort website reads:
As part of our commitment to share an update on Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party ticket sales, we want you to know that new sales will resume on July 11 no earlier than 9:00 AM, Pacific Time. We sincerely apologize for the technical issues we experienced last week that may have impacted your ability to purchase tickets.
Oogie Boogie Bash Dates
Oogie Boogie Bash will take place on select nights throughout September and October in Disney California Adventure Park. Each party will begin at 6 p.m., but Guests can enter DCA as early as 3 p.m. Ticket prices range from $134 to $189.

Disney's Oogie Boogie Bash takes Halloween parties to the next level. There are a ton of fun things to do during the Party. In addition to traditional trick-or-treat spots, there are a number of interactive treat trails. Guests will not only get yummy candy and snacks, but they will be able to interact with some of their favorite villains, including Maleficent and the Evil Queen. Each year, Disney brings in amazing new villains, and last year's interactive treat trails included Sid from Toy Story, Madam Mim from The Sword in the Stone, and Ernesto De La Cruz from Coco.
Guests attending Oogie Boogie Bash can head over to the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail, which is transformed into the eerily beautiful Villains Grove just for the nighttime event! The trail is divided up into different areas that feature different colors, designs, and music, to represent different Disney villains.
A Disney party isn't a Disney party without a parade, and Oogie Boogie Bash is no different! Twice per night, Mickey and his friends, along with classic villains, and some surprise characters make their way through California Adventure for Mickey's Frightfully Fun parade. During the parade, Guests will be able to see some villains that they will never see at any other time. They may even see some hitchhiking ghosts!
Disney is all about the characters, and special characters come out for Oogie Boogie Bash. In the past, Guests have been able to see characters like Governor Radcliffe from Pocahontas. Last year, Guests were thrilled as they were able to meet Bruno from the hit Disney film Encanto.
Each year, Oogie Boogie Bash tickets sell out faster than they did the year before. In 2022, tickets were sold out in a matter of days. So, if you are planning on attending Oogie Boogie Bash, be sure to get online and get your tickets as soon as they go on sale. Tickets are sold on a first-come, first-serve basis, so make sure you have multiple dates you would like to attend because some dates will sell out faster than others.
