It may only be October, but it’s never too early to start thinking about the Christmas season! It’s always fun to think about silver bells, snowflakes, hot cocoa, Christmas lights, and jingle bells. Oh, and we can’t forget Disney! No one knows how to do Christmas the way Disney does. It doesn’t matter if it’s in the theme parks or on Disney+. Christmas and Disney seem to go hand in hand.

There is also the incredibly popular franchise, The Santa Clause, The Santa Clause 2, and The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause. The Santa Clause came out in 1994 and starred Tim Allen as Scott Calvin. Scott must take over as Santa when he scares the other Santa off the roof of his house. Fans loved the movie so much that the sequel was released in 2002. Then, in 2006, the third and final film came out.

Last year, Disney kept the classic franchise alive with the release of the Disney+ original series, The Santa Clauses. The show continued Scott’s story, but, after almost 30 years of being Santa, he’s ready to retire. The show’s first season showed Scott on the hunt for the perfect person to replace him as Santa Claus. Things don’t quite work out the way he hoped they would, and he keeps the reins.
We are just a few weeks from the season 2 premiere of the popular show and have just learned some exciting new casting news. Disney has announced that Saturday Night Live alum Tracy Morgan will appear in the show as the Easter Bunny! We don’t know how many episodes Morgan will appear in, or how big his role will be, but it will be exciting to see him in a Disney original!
While season one of The Santa Clauses focused on Scott looking for his replacement, the second season will show Scott training his son Cal to take over for him when he retires for good.
The Santa Clauses season two will see the return of Tim Allen as Scott Calvin AKA Santa Claus, Elizabeth Mitchell as Carol Calvin/Mrs. Claus, Austin Kane as Cal, and Elizabeth Allen Dick as Sandra Calvin Claus, Scott and Carol’s daughter. Comedian Gabriel Iglesias will play Kris Kringle, the owner/operator of the Christmas-themed amusement park, Santopolis. Modern Family star Eric Stonestreet will play Magnus Antas, also known as Mad Santa.
There will also be numerous actors performing in recurring roles that fans will love. Marta Kessler will play Olga, Liam Kyle will play Gary, Isabella Bennett will be Edie, Sasha Knight will play Crouton, Ruby Jay is Riley, Mia Lynn Bangunan stars as Pontoon, and Laura San Giacomo will play La Befana, the Christmas Witch.
As with season one, season two will have a two-episode premiere, with an additional episode dropping weekly after that.
