Recently, Disney fans took the time to share their opinion about one of the most long-awaited rides that recently debuted at the Magic Kingdom.

We’re talking about none other than the infamous TRON: Lightcycle/Run at Walt Disney World. The attraction first came to life at the Disney Parks in Shanghai Disney Resort in 2016 and was met with rave reviews. Then in 2017, former Disney CEO Bob Chapek announced at the D23 Expo that the ride would be coming to Walt Disney World in Central Florida. This was a welcome announcement, and fans were thrilled; but between the pandemic and its effects on development, the ride took six long years to come to fruition (which meant Guests couldn’t go on the Walt Disney World Railroad for a long time too).

On April 4, 2023, the ride finally opened to the general public at Disney World, and many queued up for hours to have their chance to ride the highly-anticipated ride.

Is TRON Worth It?

Now that TRON has been open for a few months, Disney fans have begun sharing their opinions on whether the long-awaited ride is worth the wait and the hype. And the answer seems to be a resounding NO.

Disney Fan and Reddit user SloppyTacosV2 took to the social media platform to ask fellow fans what their opinions were, and the consensus was evident: most fans don’t believe waiting for hours-long queues or investing in the Individual Lightning Lane for the attraction is the right call.

So Which Ride Should You Go On Instead?

Rather, what emerged from the discussion was an alternative ride from Disney that also is quite recent in the park’s history. Many agreed that while TRON: Lightcycle/Run had been underwhelming and too short, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind was the obvious choice instead.

One fan shared, “Bought an ILL in April when we were there… Wife and I agreed we’d never pay for it again…GOTG though? ILL and VQ every single time forever.”

Another fan agreed! “It looks neat and it’s fun but it’s not worth the wait even with VQ or the cost of the LL. Cosmic Rewind for life.”
