10 Tasty Pies to Try at Disney World

Visiting Walt Disney World Resort? You certainly have plenty of palatable pies to pick from! Both conventional classics and uniquely flavored novelties make up the grand ensemble, with various specialties forever emerging at locations all throughout the Parks, Resorts, and within Disney Springs. Here are 10 tasty examples that you simply must try.

10. Entrée Pies

Not all pies are exclusive to a dessert-like status. In fact, there are several classic entrées that are renowned for being well-loved mealtime courses. The shepherd’s pie, beloved by many, is perhaps one of the best examples. And the good news is, you can find various renditions of such being served up at various locations throughout Disney World.

Head to EPCOT’s Rose & Crown Dining Room to enjoy their version of Shepherd’s Pie, which comes as a compilation of ground beef, seasonal vegetables, English peas, mashed potatoes, and McCall’s own Irish Cheddar.

Raglan Road, over in Disney Springs, offers up their own house specialty Shepherd’s to Die for Pie. Their presentation comes as braised and pulled beef and lamb mixed together with root vegetables in a red wine jus with Irish peat-smoked mashed potato.

Chicken potpie fans will also love their Pie in the Sky entrée, served as a puff pastry-filled blend of chicken, wild mushrooms, and leeks in a white wine cream sauce.

9. Granny Smith Apple Pie

Over at Whispering Canyon Café, the fan-favored dining spot on location at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, you can enjoy delicious apple pie in its most traditional sense. Made using good-to-the-core granny smith apples, this full and flaky apple pie is served up by the slice à la mode with an accompanying scoop of ice cream.

8. Caramel Apple Pie À la Mode

The Edison, over at Disney Springs, is known for its eclectic eats and reinventions of traditional, beloved entrée classics. They’ve even revamped traditional apple pie with this decadent dessert, which fuses together cinnamon gelato with large apple slices, spices, caramel sauce, and a whipped cream garnishment.

7. Key Lime Pie Offerings

If not just as traditional as classic apple pie, the key lime pie is a pretty popular pick that is featured at locations all throughout Walt Disney World Resort. Each location presents its own personal take on the highly contested confection, with some of the most widely praised renditions being found at these locations:

  • The BOATHOUSE (Disney Springs) — A unique key lime offering, which comes in a mason jar and includes vanilla bean Chantilly cream and raspberries.
  • House of Blues Restaurant (Disney Springs) — Traditional key lime pie with a coconut graham cracker crust, whipped cream, lime zest, and shaved coconut.
  • T-REX (Disney Springs) — Presented as  their unique “Cosmic Key Lime Pie.”
  • Rainforest Cafe (Disney’s Animal Kingdom/Disney Springs) — Both locations offer key lime pie served with raspberry sauce and a creamy whipped topping.
  • Polite Pig (Disney Springs) — Their own traditional recipe.
  • Kona Island (Polynesian Village Resort) — Served up in a graham cracker crust and featuring key lime curd, passion fruit curd, orange marmalade, passion fruit bulba, and chocolate swirl.

6. Peanut Butter Pie

Contempo Café, at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, is known for offering many mouthwatering desserts. And while their Pumpkin Pie Tart with cinnamon and whipped cream is a hit with many (especially during the autumn months) there’s just something undeniably pleasing about their specialty Peanut Butter Pie.

Dished up as a vanilla tart shell filled with custard and peanut butter filling, a drizzling of chocolate ganache and adorning garnishment of crisp chocolate pearls elevates its overall edible appeal.

In celebration of Disney World’s 50th anniversary, Contempo Café is also offering a limited-time Peanut Butter-Banana Pie served up with a peanut butter mousse filling, banana sauce, and chocolate glaze with other chocolate toppings.

5. Pressed Penny Silk Pie

If you need a sweet sendoff to follow your delectable dog at Casey’s Corner, just order their Pressed Penny Silk Pie. A chocolate lover’s dream come true, this pie prides itself on a deliverance of chocolate filling within a chocolate tart shell, with whipped cream topping and a special chocolate-pressed penny to crown the presentation.

4. Chocolate S’mores Pie

One of the best things about all-you-can-eat buffets is the fact that you get to pick and choose your own meal items. This of course includes the dessert part that follows any meal. So, when we mention that this pie version of a contested campfire treat is being served up at Hollywood & Vine in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, it’s very good news indeed!

Featured as a compilation of dark chocolate mousse with toasted marshmallow and graham cracker streusel, it goes without saying that one slice just may not be enough.

3. Chocolate Pecan Pie

Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ is a famed Disney Springs dining establishment, always buzzing with satisfied Guests who just can’t get enough of the renowned celebrity chef’s menu specialties. And among those specialties is this sweet treat, which is a deliverance of the chef’s own 100-year-old family farm recipe.

This pie is pretty self-explanatory when it comes to its two leading ingredients; the pleasing presentation is accompanied by a scoop of delicious vanilla bean ice cream to really set things off.

2. Macadamia Turtle Pie

We previously mentioned the BOATHOUSE for their novelty Key Lime Pie in a Mason Jar, but they have another pie that is done to perfection as well: the Macadamia Turtle. In a unique combination of macadamia nuts, chocolate, and caramel, this cloud nine-confection comes decked out with Homer’s brand vanilla ice cream in a most elaborate enticement.

1. Mango Pie

This featured favorite, which can be found on the menu at Animal Kingdom’s Yak & Yeti Restaurant, is one of the most raved-about pies in all of Walt Disney World Resort. And once you try it for yourself, you’ll understand why.

Presenting the perfect balance of sweet and tangy mango filling, loaded up within a shortbread cookie crust, the finishing touches include raspberry sauce and a whipped topping.

Menus are always changing at Disney World, so it’s always best to check frequently for any updates on the specialties you love so well. Also, in going back to our first point about entrée pies, keep in mind that there are many other atypical pies to please your palate in addition to all these, as well.

Pizzas are, after all, considered pies too, as are some tarts and pastries, depending on how they are prepared. But the most important thing to remember is that even though eating pie on Pi Day is a great way to celebrate the occasion, you really don’t ever need an excuse to enjoy a delicious Disney pie.
