7 Meals You’ll Love in Magic Kingdom

Liberty Tree Tavern

Of all the Disney Parks within the Walt Disney World Resort, Magic Kingdom may be the least praised for its dining options. While the perennial turkey leg is a park legend all to itself, new treats are constantly moving up. This list includes a combination of classic standbys and fresh experiences to keep every Disney diner on their game.

7. Rise and shine at Be Our Guest:

It’s important to arrive at the park early, but one can’t expect to wrestle a full day of sight-seeing without an excellent breakfast! Be Our Guest features such French favorites as the Croque Madame with a desirable selection of pastries and coffee beverages as well. Try the Croissant Doughnut if you’re feeling adventurous! Children can enjoy familiar foods like scrambled eggs or venture into new territory with crepes served with wildberry foam. Be Our Guest promises a “magical start” to your day. This popular venue fills up fast, but reservations for breakfast can be made up to 90 days prior to your visit.

6. Graze and greet at The Crystal Palace:

Buffet fans rejoice! The Crystal Palace is famous for its round-the-clock buffet. The atmosphere is bright and lush, evocative of a gorgeous greenhouse. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, the all-you-can-eat format allows you to fill up on one big meal, while pleasing every member of the family. We haven’t even mentioned the best part: You can meet Pooh and his neighbors here! For the true Disney nut, character dining is the way to go, and The Crystal Palace nails it.

5. Load up at Golden Oak Outpost:

For a quick pick-me-up, consider the specialty waffle fries at MK’s Golden Oak Outpost. Served with your choice of carrots or apple slices, these affordable meals don’t have to leave you feeling *entirely* guilty. Loaded with rich gravy and cheddar or piled high with barbecue pork, these fries satisfy the fast food junkie in all of us! Did I mention that there may be bacon involved also? Plus, their quick-service location is the perfect spot to dry off after a ride on Splash Mountain, no reservation required!

4. Feel the love at Tony’s Town Square:

Offering both lunch and dinner, Tony’s is the place to go for a romantic meal in Magic Kingdom. Its time-tested Italian menu is just right for sharing (tiramisú, anyone?) and the décor will bring you back to Lady and the Tramp’s most memorable moment! Don’t think adults alone can dine here: Tony’s is situated in the perfect spot for parade lovers of all ages. Even the pickiest of eaters is bound to find something to love. Pricing is the same for lunch and dinner, so there’s no need to book earlier in the day to save a few dollars.

3. Celebrate Thanksgiving every day at Liberty Tree Tavern:

The second buffet on our list, Liberty Tree Tavern’s evening selection features tried-and-true patriotic dishes. Endless helpings of roasted turkey, stuffing, and mashed potatoes will leave you satiated until breakfast! Not into the buffet format? The lunch menu has the same Thanksgiving-style plate plus several seafood options. This classic American goody is currently undergoing renovations until November of 2015. With a reinvigorated interior and filling fare, this venue is poised to impress.

2. Dine royally at Cinderella’s Royal Table:

This is a must-do on every Disney Fanatic’s list, being the ultimate in enchanted dining. With impressive surroundings fit for royalty, don’t be surprised if you spot Cinderella herself! Princess and engagement packages are available, so you can be assured that your experience will pack an amazing punch of Disney magic. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are available: all three mealtimes offering splendid views of the park, including nighttime fireworks. Reservations are highly encouraged!

1. Celebrate the sweet life at Tomorrowland Terrace Fireworks Dessert Party:

Dole Whip, Mickey ice cream bars, and jumbo marshmallow treats are held in high esteem by park regulars. Dessert doesn’t have to be limited to the grab-and-go format, however. Make dessert a meal unto itself at the Tomorrowland Terrace Fireworks Dessert Party! Cool and quick by day, the fast-service pavilion becomes sweet and spectacular by night. Sit down to a sweeping view of Cinderella’s castle and enjoy your V.I.P. perspective of the park’s nightly fireworks. Accompanied by an indulgent helping of chocolate-covered strawberries, sweets, and your beverage of choice, there’s no better way to soften the sting of a day’s end at the most magical place on earth. Since this is an event all to its own, we definitely recommend reserving a spot at least one week in advance.

So there you have it: a full day (and then some) of dining at Magic Kingdom. While certain eats will never go out of style, part of the Disney fun is finding something new to enjoy every time you visit! So explore, nibble, and have fun discovering your next favorite.

BONUS TIP: Within a reasonable walking distance of the park are Disney’s Grand Floridian and Contemporary Resort/Bay Lake Towers. Boats are also available to Disney’s Polynesian and Wilderness Lodge. Consider dining outside of the park if you would like a change of scenery or want to minimize crowds.
