There are some Disney heirs or Disney-affiliated people (such as Disney Legends or Walt Disney Imagineers from Walt Disney Imagineering) whose names are instantly recognized in the Disney Fanatic community. One name, however, might be a little less obvious!

David Hand has recently spoken up about his own thoughts on the upcoming live-action Snow White remake, after experiencing a personal connection to the original 1937 film.

The Walt Disney Legacy

This David Hand is the second David Hand to appear underneath the Disney umbrella, actually; David Hand’s father, who bore the same name, was the one who worked with Walt Disney himself and directed Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

The more modern and younger David Hand worked for Disney as a designer, but in the 1990s.

In an interview with The Telegraph, the son of the late Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs director had a lot to say about the new version of his father’s movie!

“I Just Totally Disagree”

David Hand did not specifically mention Rachel Zegler, the controversial actress who has been cast in the role of Snow White (and whose impressive singing abilities just might be the key to winning over audiences).

However, he did viciously take down the movie as a whole! “It’s a whole different concept and I just totally disagree with it, and I know my dad and Walt would also very much disagree with it,” Hand began in the interview.

Rachel Zegler is the new Snow White. She stars in the upcoming live-action remake opposite Gal Gadot, who plays the Evil Queen.

“Turning in Their Graves”

Hand went on to call the new Snow White film a “disgrace,” blaming the modern-day Walt Disney Company’s “radical” ideas and “new woke things.”

“I’m just not into any of that,” the Disney designer complained. “I find it quite frankly a bit insulting [what] they may have done with some of these classic films.”

Hand added a particularly personal remark, as well: “There’s no respect for what Disney did and what my dad did…I think Walt and he would be turning in their graves.”

Are you excited about the new Snow White adaptation that will star Rachel Zegler, and are you excited to see the progressive changes that have been made to the original 1937 movie plot?

Alternatively, do you find yourself agreeing with David Hand about this new movie and the new version of the first Disney Princess (not to mention the casting of Rachel Zegler as Snow White and Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen)?
