After the shocking accident at the newly opened Zootopia attraction, Disney has officially addressed the incident.

While going to any Disney Park, no matter where in the world, is an experience to write home about, it’s incredibly important to remember that there are certain codes of conduct every guest must adhere to while at a Disney resort.

Time and again, be it at the domestic Disney Resorts like Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort or at the global Disney Parks like Shanghai Disney Resort or Disneyland Paris, Disney had made their expectations of behavior clear.

Guest Injures Themself After Jumping Out of Ride Vehicle

We recently reported on how a young guest injured themself while at Shanghai Disney Resort when they jumped off the ride vehicle for the newly opened Zootopia: Hot Pursuit. While there was very little information shared about the incident, it was clear the guest was notably injured.

At the time of publishing this article, we don’t have a further update on how the guest is doing.

What we do have an update on, however, is Disney’s official addressing of the incident.

The attraction had been briefly shut down after this occurred—understandably so—while Disney dealt with the situation and made sure the guest got the required medical help. However, as of this morning, the attraction has resumed operations once again.

Shanghai Disney Resort also took to its website to share that “All guests are required to comply with the resort’s operational guidelines as they experience the attraction.”

The attraction is one of the newest ones on offer at Shanghai Disneyland’s Zootopia Land. It just opened on December 20.

Disney also addressed the fact that as the attraction is still in its opening phase, there might be some kinks to iron out, resulting in potential brief pauses and downtimes in the ride. The Disney resort underlined that guests needed to pay attention to cast members’ instructions during these times.

This isn’t the first time Disney has addressed guest behavior at a theme park.

Last year, Disney released an official update to the code of conduct highlighting that guests needed to behave appropriately for being at the parks (particularly Walt Disney World and Disneyland) or risk being kicked out.
