VIDEO: Disney Character Accused of Racism in Viral TikTok

Another Disney character has been accused of racism and preferential treatment in a TikTok video that has since gone viral.
A Theme Park at either the Walt Disney World Resort or the Disneyland Resort—home to the Disney California Adventure Park and Disneyland Park—is one of the best places in the world to get that quintessential Disney experience and feel the Disney magic. Between the usually wonderful Cast Member treatment, the character meets and greets, and of course, the famous rides that Disney is so well known for, Guests flock to many a Disney Park.
The Disney Parks have yet again been accused of racism, and preferential treatment after a Disney character appeared to have hugged white children and then shoved a young Black girl aside at Disneyland Resort.
Tiktok user, @karenlivesmatter2019, shared the video, tagging Disney and demanding they take action. From the video itself, it’s unclear when the video was filmed at the Disney Resort.
A voice-over sounds out over the video, saying, “Disney must have hired a Karen. Watch closely what they do.”
In the video, we can see the Disney character Eeyore walking through the Disney Park. Children run towards the character, and he hugs a few of them. These children happen to be white. As the character continues walking, a young Black child tries to hug him, and he shoves her aside. From the video, it’s uncertain if this was intentional or if the Cast Member simply could not see the child through the Eeyore costume.

The comments on the video were mixed.
Some felt it was unfair that Cast Members did this to kids, while others stood up for the Cast Members and Performers. Thus far, Disneyland Resort hasn’t responded to the allegations of racism by this Eeyore performer.
