Disney Sells Sleeping Beauty Castle Leftovers

Nobody can say that the Walt Disney Company is not making an effort to be more sustainable and less wasteful as climate change and pollution become more and more pressing issues! There is composting at Walt Disney World Resort, new artificial turf in Disneyland to save water, and there are even edible straws to be found in Disney Parks.

Now, Disneyland Paris is adding to Disney’s sustainability efforts by “upcycling” a huge tarp from Sleeping Beauty Castle and turning the remnants into adorable merchandise!

Sleeping Beauty Castle (the Disneyland Paris Resort version, that is) was covered by a recycled tarp during its recent refurbishment — and now that the recycled tarp is no longer needed, it has been upcycled into lots of fun accessories that are about to be available for purchase!

The Sleeping Beauty Castle tarp has been turned into “tote bags, duffel bags, briefcases and pouches” that feature sophisticated images. Check them out in the Tweet below!

These accessories will be a fantastic option for anyone who wants a truly unique, and eco-friendly, Disney souvenir. Yes, there are lots of limited-edition souvenirs and there is plenty of limited-edition Disney merchandise to be found — but these bags made from the tarp that covered Sleeping Beauty Castle really are one of a kind!

The Disneyland Paris castle bags will be on sale at The Storybook Store starting on September 9 — but Annual Passholders will be able to buy them one day earlier, on September 8 (aka Disney+ Day)!

The Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland Paris might not be as well-known as the Cinderella Castle at Walt Disney World Resort or the Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland, but it is still a Disney icon. Plus, Sleeping Beauty herself recently went through a rather embarrassing experience, so this Disney princess could use the extra support!

Are you going to be lining up in the Storybook Store queue to buy these one-of-a-kind Disneyland Paris castle souvenirs? There are only 2,300 in stock, so you’ll want to be first in line on September 9 (or September 8 if you’re any Annual Passholder)!
