Woman Confronts Co-Worker After Offensive Disney Vacation Request

woman refuses to give in to children at disney world

Walt Disney World Resort vacations are often associated with large crowds that mainly consist of families with hordes of small children — hence the Disney Resort’s somewhat-negative reputation in the travel industry — but one woman recently faced off against that stereotype in her workplace!

According to TikTok user @evmariexo, she was recently asked by her boss to give up her previously-approved vacation time on short notice so that another employee could head to Walt Disney World Resort with their children.

The TikTok user, Evie, revealed that this request was made just a week before her planned Christmas vacation — and that the request to give up her vacation so that a co-worker named Karen could take a Disney trip with her kids also involved Evie’s boss asking her to “find it in your heart” to give up her break.

Evie said in the TikTok video shown below that Bob, another person with his own children, “was, like, totally on her side about it.” Evie does not have children of her own, but was excited to see her own family on her vacation and refused to give in.

“I was like, you know what, Bob?,” the woman declared, “I’ve searched my heart, and it turns out that there is nothing in my heart that’s going to make me willing to give her my week.”

After Evie refused to give up her Christmas vacation so that her co-worker could bring their children to Walt Disney World Resort for the holiday, Evie’s boss also had “the audacity” to insist that Evie tell Karen the bad news herself.

“He was like, ‘Okay, well, you’re going to have to go out there, and you’re going to have to tell Karen that she can’t take her kids to Disney World. You’re going to have to tell her’,” Evie recalled.

“I walked right out of his office, walked right up to her desk, and I was like, ‘listen, Karen, I just talked to Bob… I’m sorry… I’m sure you can take your kids to Disney World at another time’,” Evie said in the video.

Karen did not take the news well. “She got so mad, you guys. Like, the entitlement was unreal,” Evie recalled.

Despite Karen’s tearful declaration that her Disney vacation was necessary, Evie stuck to her guns and apparently said the following: “You know what, Karen? That’s probably true. But I am about to experience this vacation. See you in a week.”

Have you ever noticed that employees with children tend to get special treatment, or noticed that families who make Disney World their vacation destination of choice tend to face more positive treatment than employees who vacation elsewhere?
