Fun Ideas For A “Halloweekend” At Disney Springs

Credit: Disney

Halloween weekend is almost upon us. And if you just so happen to be visiting Walt Disney World Resort for the spooky occasion, you’re probably already contemplating the myriad of Halloween-themed happenings and specials currently taking place within the Parks and at various Disney Resorts. Perhaps you’ve even recently attended one of the ongoing Disney After Hours Boo Bash events or have plans to do so later on this week. But before you lay out a Halloween-focused itinerary centered exclusively on Disney World Parks and hotels, you may want to consider a more low-key detour into Disney Springs. That’s right, Disney Springs can be a lot of fun any time of year and makes for an especially exciting alternative to traditional Halloween celebrations. Think of it as the way adults do trick-or-treating, although kids will enjoy it too. From widespread weekend entertainment to frightful feasting, themed treats, and so much more, we’re gushing out some ghoulishly good ideas for you to consider for celebrating the ultimate “Halloweekend” at Disney Springs.

7. Dress It Up!

Keep things fun by donning your favorite Halloween getup when you hit Disney Springs this weekend. While Disney Parks do not traditionally look very highly on anyone over the age of 14 dressing up in costumes (although Halloween events do allow for more flexibility), Disney Springs is altogether different terrain. So why shouldn’t enthusiastic adults and kids alike go all out for Halloween? Even if you don’t feel comfortable attiring yourself in a full-fledged costume, consider some nice Halloween or fall-themed Disney apparel to wear in honor of your weekend outing. Looking for some great onsite places to shop for any of the aforementioned? Here are some excellent suggestions to keep in mind: Super Hero Headquarters Marketplace Co-Op (The Dress Shop on Cherry Tree Lane), Trend-D, Star Wars Galactic Outpost, and World of Disney.

6. Pursue the Thrills and Chills

Because Halloween is that one time of the year when most folks like to scare themselves silly, this may be the very opening you need to finally pursue some of the notoriously bold Disney Springs thrills you’ve been putting off. Have you ever observed those BOATHOUSE-based Vintage Amphicar rides along Lake Buena Vista and said to yourself “someday”? Well, what better day than on Halloween day? Or even better, why not take a daring ascent into the sky via that famous tethered hot air balloon Aerophile? That will get your adrenaline pumping!

5. Take in a Movie

Did you know that Disney Springs is home to an excellent onsite movie theater? Combining the experience of traditional movie watching with the option to have a meal while viewing your film of choice is what esteems AMC DINE-IN Disney Springs 24 in the eyes of many visitors. And since you’re already out and about celebrating Halloween weekend anyway, why don’t you opt to take in a movie here? Matinee pricing is available daily prior to 4 p.m. at a 30-percent discounted rate (and keep in mind that masks are still recommended, regardless of your vaccination status). Also take note that you may book a private rental here, well in advance, if you would ever like to host an event. In this case, perhaps your own Halloween party with family and friends is in order?

4. Embrace the Eerie Entertainment

Most seasoned visitors to Disney Springs already know that the live entertainment scene is always buzzing here. From open, on-street concerts held in a public setting to those performances occurring within the walls of various restaurant and club venues, one thing’s for sure; there’s never a dull moment! And it’s almost always a given that the entertainers lined up around a specific season will perform themed hits. So that means there will be plenty of frightfully familiar tunes you probably know and love playing all week long! While in-house entertainment acts may vary at certain times of day and may depend on the venue location, here’s a quick rundown on where you can enjoy free, outdoor public performances this weekend:

  • AdventHealth Waterside Stage
  • Exposition Park
  • Riverboat Square
