Elon Musk’s recent comments do not help his case and will likely just sour relations with the Mouse House more, especially with the Walt Disney Company needing to distance itself from controversy.
Disney has always been an image-conscious company. They have proven this time and again when it comes to how quickly they will cut ties with any actor, singer, or company that behaves in a way that doesn’t align with Disney’s values. Even (or perhaps, especially) when it’s a superstar like Johnny Depp (who was dropped by Disney before the start of his high-profile case against ex-wife Amber Heard due to domestic abuse allegations), Disney is incredibly careful not to associate with people who can bring scrutiny and controversy to the company.
Now, Elon Musk’s recent comments—despite showing frustration at being “blackmailed”—are not helping his case, and will likely have Iger doubling down on his decision to distance the company from X.

Elon Musk Makes Controversial Anti-Semitic Comments
Recently, Tesla CEO Elon Musk responded online to a tweet that was anti-semitic in nature, expressing his support for the idea.
One user posted on X, saying, Jewish people “have been pushing the exact kind of dialectical hatred against whites that they claim to want people to stop using against them”—an apparent reference to “replacement theory,” the notion that Jewish people are attempting to replace white populations with nonwhite immigrants.
Musk responded to this comment, saying, “You have said the actual truth.”
This response has obviously not gone down well with many who have frequently accused Musk of being anti-semitic.

While Musk has since back-pedaled and shared that “I should, in retrospect, not have replied to that particular post, and should have expanded in greater length about what I meant…I handed a loaded gun to those who hate me,” he added, calling it “one of the most foolish” things he had said on the platform.
However, the damage was done, and many companies, including Disney, decided to pull their advertising from X. Musk was seemingly furious about this turn of events, highlighting that the lack of advertising could “kill the company.”
He then proceeded to tell all those advertisers to “f*** themselves,” saying that he refused to be bullied by monetary threats.

This said, earlier, when Bob Iger was asked about his position on needing to withdraw from X, formerly known as Twitter, here’s what he had to say:
“I have a lot of respect for Elon and what he has accomplished,” Iger said. However, given “the position [Musk] took, in quite a public manner,” Disney concluded that its association with Musk and X/Twitter was “not necessarily a positive one for us.”
Bob Iger is hell-bent on fixing Disney’s mess and is no longer taking chances with bringing the company back up to scratch. This means that Musk’s recent comments will likely serve to only reinforce to Mr. Iger that he made the right decision ending Disney’s association with X in this way.
Disney CEO Bob Iger has not, in fact, responded to Musk’s comments and is unlikely to do so in any explicit way. What is more probable (if things continue in the way they have been going) is that, with time, Disney will remove all traces of its association with X.
It’s Disney, after all. If the company has proved anything to audiences after all this time, it’s that it always survives.
Elon is stepping into one mess after another…I am appalled at what Elon said in a public venue…and against many companies that I love… I send apologies on behalf of Elon…please accept them…
There’s nothing family about Disney at all. Never will take children there as the content they are putting out is pure evil and vile. Defaming people whenever they can. Strong arming people with money. I hope they go broke and we will be visiting abandoned amusement parks on YouTube with them being featured. Nothing sweet and innocent about the company.
