In search of more advertisers, Elon Musk said, “to use Twitter yourselves, and believe what you see on Twitter, not what you read in the newspapers.”

After Elon Musk took on Twitter last year many saw a rise in hate speech on the platform, and this reportedly spooked many advertisers. However, Apple and Disney stayed on as long-term partners, and Musk expressed his gratitude for this.

He shared on Twitter’s relationship with the Mouse House, “Disney is a major advertiser on Twitter, one of our biggest advertisers. Apple is one of our biggest advertisers. Disney, of course, does not want to have its ads next to things that are not appropriate for a family audience.”

But that’s not the end of it for Musk. He also intends on looking to HBO and Warner Bros. Discovery for advertising. He mentioned a conversation with Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav, wherein Zaslav reportedly asked, “Why can’t we put a White Lotus trailer every time someone mentions White Lotus on Twitter?” and Musk was happy to oblige.

The CEO concluded that this controversial move on his part was in defense of “free speech” and for “the future of our civilization…That’s why I did it.”
