Kristen Bell Supports Bob Chapek — And Plans to Dress Like Him

It is safe to say (judging by these petition signatures) that a lot of Disney Fanatics do not like the current Walt Disney Company CEO Bob Chapek.

Disney discontent has been surpassing Disney magic for a while now (in part due to Chapek and in part due to Guests’ bad behavior in the Disney Parks, among other things) — but Disney darling Kristen Bell has just made it clear that she is still a big fan of Bob Chapek, even if most Disney fans aren’t!

Kristen Bell is best known by Disney fans for her role as Queen Anna (formerly Princess Anna) from the Disney princess Frozen series. Kristen Bell showed off her voice acting abilities, her wide range as a singer, and her bubbly, happy personality while playing the role — and the fact that Kristen Bell is famous for being just as friendly and cheerful in real life has only further endeared the Veronica Mars star to Disney Fanatics.

The Good Place actress just became a Disney Legend today during the official D23 Expo Disney Legends Award Ceremony in Anaheim, California — and during her award acceptance speech, the Veronica Mars actress made things rather awkward.

In a room full of Bob Chapek opponents, Kristen Bell declared that she not only dressed up as former Disney CEO Bob Iger (who has remained popular after leaving the Walt Disney Company, and is often compared to current CEO Bob Chapek) as a child, but that she also now plans on recreating that experience by dressing up as Chapek for Halloween or for her July 18th birthday.

Kristen Bell did hit the right notes in plenty of other places during her acceptance speech, referencing Disney’s penchant for messages like “dream big”, “follow [your] heart”, and “burst out into song at any moment”.

However, the tension was a bit more palpable after her mention of support for Chapek and her desire to emulate him, especially since she had also just mentioned former CEO Bob Iger and comparisons between the two men have been particularly stark lately. CEO Chapek was actually booed at the D23 Expo earlier today, too!

When it comes to Kristen Bell’s Bob Chapek Halloween costume, we shall have to wait and see if she actually goes through with the effort — or if she saves it for July.
