For more than two years, Disney has been fighting an uphill battle to get fans invested in its new live-action remake of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Fans have been unhappy with multiple aspects of the film. Many are tired of Disney turning a lot of animated films into live-action remakes. And a lot of people had issues with Disney’s choice for Snow White — Rachel Zegler, who is of Polish and Colombian descent.

Unfortunately for Disney, Zegler herself has not been helping their cause. The West Side Story actress is frequently called out for what many perceive as constant criticisms of the original story. Zegler has said that her Snow White will have more autonomy over her choices, instead of solely relying on a prince to save her. She also called the prince in the original story a “stalker” and said that the new film might not even need him.
Despite all the backlash, Disney has decided to push forward with the film. However, they have decided to make one BIG change to the film.
On October 27, it was announced that Disney would be delaying Snow White’s release by one year.

Disney has not said why they have decided to delay Snow White’s release. For a while, there were rumors circulating that Disney had reached its breaking point and fired Zegler. However, those appear to be nothing more than rumors, with Zegler even making a joke out of the rumors.
Even though Zegler took a more lighthearted stance on the constant requests to fire her, she has also taken fans’ criticisms to heart. Zegler has taken to Instagram to tell fans that she is so grateful to Disney for giving her the chance to play its original princess. She has also thanked her fans for their continued support.

In addition to the announcement that the film’s release was being delayed, Disney also gave fans an official first look at Zegler as Snow White with her seven dwarfs. Up until now, there have been very few photos of Zegler as the titular Disney princess.
The photo shows Zegler surrounded by the dwarfs, who take her in and try to protect her from the evil Queen.
Sadly, the delay does not look great to fans, who are already doubting how successful the film will be. There are still calls for Disney to cancel the movie altogether. Then, there are those who are hoping the delay is because Disney has chosen to recast Zegler, although that is highly unlikely, given the photo release.
Snow White will also star Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen, Andrew Burnap as Jonathan AKA The Prince, and Ansu Kabia as the Huntsman.

I agree with most. Leave the animated movies alone. You are destroying the classics that made Disney that everyone loved. Oh how I wish it could be that way again.
Rachel needs to be fired. That simple. Boycotting Snow White unless the woke monster is fired.
Disney has completely missed the mark and shown themselves to be oblivious. There’s a big difference between making what they believe are positive changes for the future and trying to rewrite history. Bob Iger is completely out of touch, and the idea that a wealthy white man believes they can be the herald for diversity is absolutely laughable.
