The new Snow White movie (which stars songbird and West Side Story actress Rachel Zegler) has been placed against a surprisingly tall stack of obstacles months before its 2024 premiere.

Whether they have been complaints due to the new version of Snow White’s seven dwarfs, complaints due to the new movie’s updated ideas of feminism, or complaints about Rachel Zegler herself, the now Snow White movie has been virtually doomed to box office failure in the eyes of many Disney Fanatics.

A New “Snow White”

Now, Disney seems to be trying to throw its fans a bone in the form of a new product that relates to the same classic Disney Princess film that has Disney Fanatics so up in arms!

According to journalist Scott Gustin in the Tweet shown below, “Disney is releasing a restored 4K Blu-ray version of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs on October 10. The 4K version will likely land on Disney+ at a later date.”

Gustin also shared a preview of the 4k restored animated movie, which is sharper and clearer for viewers than the original 1937 animated movie.

Suspicious Timing…

This is not the first time that Disney has released an upgraded new version of one of its classic animated films, but this release’s timing certainly seems suspicious.

The new Snow White movie has caused many Disney fans to rewatch the original film, in a sort of protest — and some Disney fans have actually announced plans to boycott the new movie by watching other Snow White films on its premiere day — so an appealing new version of the animated film does indeed seem like a bone being thrown.

Was This Always the Plan?

If this new version of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was indeed planned to come not too long before the premiere of the new live-action Disney Princess movie, then it would certainly be a strategic move on Disney’s part.

Some Disney Fanatics might be appeased by the new animated movie, as if Disney’s release of the film serves as an indication that Disney is trying to honor the classic movie despite releasing a controversial remake.

Since Disney has been accused of trying to erase the original film’s plot, and since Rachel Zegler has been accused of constantly attacking the original animated movie, this new 4K version of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs has a lot of pressure on its shoulders!
