Can you believe that we are already starting to book and plan our Walt Disney World trips for 2023? It seems like we were just gearing up for the 50th celebration at Walt Disney World and now we are moving on to 2023.
If you are one that has a 2023 countdown going, we have a few things that you will want to prepare for when it comes to your Disney trip. By preparing for 2023, you will be ready to have a magical time when it is time for your trip to Walt Disney World.
Wrap Up of the 50th Celebration
Walt Disney World started celebrating 50 years on October 1st, 2021. Along with this celebration came new EARidecent outfits for Mickey Mouse and friends, new night times shows in Disney Enchantment and Harmonious as well as the Beacons of Magic at all four Disney Parks.
If you are heading down in 2023, be prepared that as of right the 50th celebration is supposed to wrap up in March 2023. For those that have vacations planned towards the end of 2023, you might not see some of the 50th celebrations around the Disney Parks anymore.
We haven’t been told this for sure, but when Disney originally announced the celebration, it was said that it would run for 18 months. We are hopeful that it might last longer but be prepared either way.
We don’t want to scare you, but the reality is that you need to be prepared for crowds throughout 2023. If we learned anything at the end of 2021 and throughout 2022 is that crowds are back at Walt Disney World.
Go into your trip prepared for them. We have a lot of suggestions on how to manage the crowds. Read through these tips so you are able to have a wonderful time during your trip.
This also means that you will want to make sure you get your reservations made early on if you are wanting to visit in 2023. The earlier you book, the better selection you have when it comes to Disney Resort options as well as Park Pass availability.
Crowds are just part of a Disney vacation. When you are prepared for them, it isn’t a big deal.
Prepare for Dining
DIning is a big part of a Walt Disney World vacation. Go into 2023 prepared for some amazing dining experiences. If you haven’t already tried some of the new options already opened, we highly recommend starting there. Space 220, Steakhouse 71, and Connections Cafe and Eatery have quickly become top dining locations throughout Walt Disney World.
Along with these three dining options already opened and welcoming Guests, we look forward to the new Roundup Rodeo coming to Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. We look forward to this new, fun-themed dining location that will be a welcome relief from the heat in this area of Disney Park. Know this will be extremely popular, so make sure that you get those reservations early once an opening date is announced.
My Disney Experience
For those heading to Walt Disney World in 2023, be prepared to use My Disney Experience a lot. This official Walt Disney World app how Guests to access almost everything important during their Disney vacation. Before heading down, we highly recommend you download the app and start navigating it.
Take a look HERE at some of the different features you should be aware of before your trip. It is through this app that Guests will have access to wait times, enter the Disney Park, or even their Disney Resort hotel room.
The My Disney Experience app is so essential to a successful trip. Make sure you prepare to use it before you head down for your vacation.
Disney Genie, Genie+, and Individual Lightning Lanes
Disney Genie, Genie+, and Individual Lightning Lanes are also found in the My Disney Experience app. These three features are found within the app which is also something you will want to be prepared for ahead of your trip.
Disney Genie is a free planning app that will give Guests tips and suggestions throughout their day as they move around a Disney Park.
Genie+ is a paid feature that Guests in 2023 can choose to add to their day for $15/per person. This can currently be added at midnight. Once added, Guests can then make selections for rides throughout the day, therefore, bypassing the standby lines. There is a lot that goes into this system, so take time to learn it HERE.
Individual Lightning Lanes are the rides at each of the four Disney Parks that aren’t included in Genie+. In order to use the Lightning Lanes (the actual line you use) for these rides, you have to pay al-a-carte. We have seen up to two rides per Disney Park be part of this feature. Find out more HERE.
Take time to learn about these features to help you determine if you’ll want to use them in 2023.
Finally, if you are heading down in 2023 to Walt Disney World, prepare for some fun new attractions. For those that haven’t already experienced the new Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in EPCOT or even Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, you will be in for a thrilling time.
We also look forward to the hopeful opening of the TRON Lighcyle Run in Magic Kingdom the new thrilling coaster in Tomorrowland. In EPCOT, we look forward to seeing how the new neighborhoods continue to take place. Journey of Water Inspired by Moana is a new interactive experience that should be coming soon to EPCOT.
When traveling in 2023, be prepared for lots of new and exciting attractions. There is so much still coming to Walt Disney World that you won’t want to miss it.
