Wrap Up of the 50th Celebration

Walt Disney World started celebrating 50 years on October 1st, 2021.  Along with this celebration came new EARidecent outfits for Mickey Mouse and friends, new night times shows in Disney Enchantment and Harmonious as well as the Beacons of Magic at all four Disney Parks.

If you are heading down in 2023, be prepared that as of right the 50th celebration is supposed to wrap up in March 2023.  For those that have vacations planned towards the end of 2023, you might not see some of the 50th celebrations around the Disney Parks anymore.

We haven’t been told this for sure, but when Disney originally announced the celebration, it was said that it would run for 18 months.  We are hopeful that it might last longer but be prepared either way.

Prepare for Dining

DIning is a big part of a Walt Disney World vacation.  Go into 2023 prepared for some amazing dining experiences.  If you haven’t already tried some of the new options already opened, we highly recommend starting there.  Space 220, Steakhouse 71, and Connections Cafe and Eatery have quickly become top dining locations throughout Walt Disney World.

Along with these three dining options already opened and welcoming Guests, we look forward to the new Roundup Rodeo coming to Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.  We look forward to this new, fun-themed dining location that will be a welcome relief from the heat in this area of Disney Park.  Know this will be extremely popular, so make sure that you get those reservations early once an opening date is announced.

Disney Genie is a free planning app that will give Guests tips and suggestions throughout their day as they move around a Disney Park.

Genie+ is a paid feature that Guests in 2023 can choose to add to their day for $15/per person.  This can currently be added at midnight.  Once added, Guests can then make selections for rides throughout the day, therefore, bypassing the standby lines.  There is a lot that goes into this system, so take time to learn it HERE.

Individual Lightning Lanes are the rides at each of the four Disney Parks that aren’t included in Genie+.  In order to use the Lightning Lanes (the actual line you use) for these rides, you have to pay al-a-carte.  We have seen up to two rides per Disney Park be part of this feature.  Find out more HERE.

About Jennifer Retzlaff

My name is Jennifer Retzlaff and I became a lifelong Disney fan during my first trip to Walt Disney World in 6th grade. From that moment, Disney became a big part of my life. I live in Iowa with my husband and two kids who are growing up too quickly for my liking. I started introducing my love for Disney early to my family with a Disney honeymoon and then trips when our youngest of 18 months. Since then, our family has been to Walt Disney World over five times and we continue to plan and dream for the next trip. I love the magic that Disney brings to people through the theme parks, cruises, adventures and movies they create. As a teacher, I try to bring that magic into my classroom to help kids believe that “If You Can Dream It, You Can Do It.” I recently reached a dream of mine as I joined Magic Vacation Planner as a personal travel advisor. With this team, I can now help others plan magical vacations. As a passionate writer, I also have my own blog at magicalvacationsbyjen which is also where you can follow me on instagram for trip reviews along with tips and tricks for your next magical vacation.
