A Disneyland guest took to social media to share the frustrating tale of being falsely accused of mistreating a cast member.
Cast members are the heart and soul of the Disney experience. Any Disney Fanatic can attest to that truth. From donning the faces of our favorite characters to making magic for guests every day, cast members are the reason so many flock to both Central Florida’s Walt Disney World Resort and Southern California’s Disneyland Resort every day.
Guests Falsely Accused of Mistreating Cast Member
In the past, we at Disney Fanatic have reported on stories of cast members being mistreated by guests or even guests who encountered rude cast members. However, today, we have a slightly different story. A guest took to social media to explain that both the guest and their mother were falsely accused of mistreating a cast member.
The guest explained that they were going on Rise of the Resistance with their mother, and a group of teenagers were in their car. The teenagers were given stern instructions by a cast member (think to the tune of “We have three rules down here, and we will kick you off the ride if you don’t follow them”).
However, the guest and their mother didn’t think much of it. Shockingly, after they got off the ride, “we were pulled aside and were being reprimanded for mistreating a cast member (we were told we said a CM was too fat to be a First Order person).”
The guest took to Reddit to ask if any other guest had experienced this while at the parks.
One other guest explained that they had a similar experience during their Disney theme park visit. They shared,
We Had a similar situation on Pirates many years ago. My boyfriend and I were on a boat, the only two in our boat and went through the ride. When we were disembarking, there were two plain clothed security who approached us and pulled us into a corner. They asked us if we knew why they stopped us and we said no, genuinely having no idea. They pressed us, saying “ are you sure? “ and started to say something about misbehaving on the boat but then a cast members ran over saying it wasn’t us, those are the wrong people. They backed off immediately and apologized for the mix up. The cast member pointed to a boat coming in and told us it was that boat being rowdy- full boat full of teenagers that were switching seats, splashing each other with water, ect. The cast member offered to let us go back through the ride but we declined.
It’s certainly not an experience one expects when going to Disney World or Disneyland, but these kinds of incidents can happen. Thankfully, it appears cast members are usually quick to rectify the situation!

Please note this is one guest’s experience at the Disney Parks, and no two guest experiences are alike. The guest account also in no way represents Disney Fanatic’s views on Disney Parks operations.
Today I went to pick up someone and they falsly accused me of video taping someone from my car. When I was not doing anything at all but laughing and watching my net Flix while waiting to pick up the person. Security guard called over a plain clothes security guard and another seucrity guard and also one on a bike. They treated me like a criminal like I had done something extremly wrong. When I had done nothing wrong. When the security guard came over I told him your more then welcome to look at my phone to see that i have done nothing wrong. The seucirty guard told me yes I trust you that you did not thing wrong. Then he said that I had to apoligize to the ugly security guard that was treating me like a criminal and falsly accuse me. I got so sick I had to call my doctor wen I got home cause it cause me to have a panic attack..
