It seems some Americans are distrustful of Disney’s intentions when it comes to purchasing Anaheim’s Angel Stadium.
Some fans are not only skeptical of the Walt Disney Company when it comes to their inclusivity efforts but are also suspicious of the Mouse House’s intentions of buying an iconic Anaheim stadium in Southern California.
Fan Believes Disney Will Buy Angel Stadium to Expand Disneyland, Build Third Theme Park
Recently, a news story about Angels owner Arte Moreno made the rounds online when Moreno made it clear that he was in the game for the long haul. There had been rumors that Moreno was considering selling the team. However, he dispelled them.
In this article from the OC Register, Moreno also commented on the possibility of buying Anaheim’s Angel Stadium. Back in 2022, the Anaheim Angels baseball team had considered buying the ballpark from Anaheim in exchange for a deal wherein they developed the surrounding area near Angel Stadium. However, the deal fell through when Anaheim Mayor Harry Sidhu was caught in a corruption scandal.
Moreno shared on the possibility now, “Right now I’d say no…I don’t like the word never. Right now I don’t believe (Anaheim officials) have an appetite for it.”
Disney wants the property Angels stadium sits on. Because they want to build another theme park, that most people will never be able to afford to go to. And since Disney runs the NEWS media and government, except in Florida and Texas, Disney will get it.

What was interesting, however, was that in the midst of this discussion, one fan diverted attention from Moreno and the Angels to the Walt Disney Company.
The fan commented, “Disney wants the property Angels stadium sits on. Because they want to build another theme park, that most people will never be able to afford to go to. And since Disney runs the NEWS media and government, except in Florida and Texas, Disney will get it.”
Disney has certainly made clear its intentions to expand Disneyland Resort with the Disneyland Forward initiative, but at present, have made no statements about necessarily buying the Anaheim stadium, especially since it’s being leased out to the Anaheim Angels baseball team at the moment.
At this point, we simply don’t have enough information to know if Disney is, in fact, planning to purchase this land; however, what we do know is in the past, they’ve talked more about the city of Anaheim’s zoning laws when it comes to constructing on land they already own.
