Walt Disney Studios’ recent success with Encanto means that the company is reworking its offerings across the theme parks. The movie didn’t make waves at the box office, but it found a huge fandom following its release on the Disney+ streaming platform. With Academy Awards wins and chart-topping numbers, it’s no wonder Disney has pushed Encanto into the limelight of Magic Kingdom.
While Guests were pretty disappointed to see Merida from Pixar Studios’ Brave end her long run of meet-and-greets at her location in Fairytale Gardens, Disney promised something even more spectacular was coming to the spot. Now, they are almost ready to make due on that promise.
Disney World Mirabel Meet-And-Greet
Starting September 15, Fairytale Gardens will open back up to Magic Kingdom visitors in a very different setting. Scottish tapestry and archery aesthetics will now be replaced with the Colombian “Casita” seen in Encanto. Better yet, Mirabel Madrigal will now greet Guests permanently in this location starting on this date.
Disney announced September 15 as the opening date to celebrate Hispanic and Latin American Heritage Month. The company is offering a ton of different events to immerse Guests in the culture, and Mirabel is the main event. While the festivities end on October 15, Mirabel will continue to do meet-and-greets in this new location year-round.
We Can Talk About Bruno
Mirabel isn’t the only member of the Familia Madrigal coming to Magic Kingdom next month. The Park also announced that Bruno will be a part of the Disney Aventure Friends Calvalcade starting on September 15 as well. He will be joined by Miguel from Pixar’s Coco, Disney Junior’s Princess Elena of Avalor, and José Carioca of the three caballeros. This parade, however, will not be a permanent addition to the Park like Mirabel’s meet-and-greet.
Fairytale Gardens officially closed down last month and entered a construction period. While most Guests anticipated a wait that could have extended long into the fall for the new offering, Disney surprised everyone with this announcement. Bruno is also a welcome addition, as the character has only been seen at Disneyland Resort in California and on Disney Cruise Line up to this point.
Walt Disney World character experiences always change based on Guest demand and popularity. Mirabel is one of Disney’s most popular characters right now, and it makes sense to give her a set location in a prominent spot at Magic Kingdom. Here’s hoping this Disney World Mirabel meet-and-greet location is as gorgeous as the location in the movie when it opens next month.
